We've been DVC owners for 23 years, one and done were Wilderness Lodge and Poly. However, both resorts have been completely rehabbed since I said that, so I'd try them both again. My "Four times and done" is Kidani. I've never gotten any of my room requests, they gave my luggage to the wrong room once, and this last time was the worst as far as my room requests go, nowhere near what I'd asked for. I asked for a room on the side near Jambo, near the Timon elevator. My room was way out past the pool near the end of the Pembe savannah. I can't believe that was the closest they had to Jambo! We're 2 for 3 at Kidani. One perfect room/location (lobby level, go left, first 2 b/r savanna view), one good (3rd floor savanna view near first elevator) and one 2 b/r savanna view that was in Arkansas, maybe Oklahoma. My issue with Kidani is that we like to have something to do after the parks and dinner, and Kidani is isolated and pretty dead.

My least favorite is BWV, as we had a room at the very end of the hall, almost in Hollywood Studios. My second least favorite is the original DVC rooms at Wilderness Lodge-did not like the decor of the rooms at all--love the lobby, but not the actual rooms--on one stay, our room was overlooking the dumpster. Third least favorite is the AKL for the dark decor and the ugly color of the wood in the rooms.
That being said, I would stay at any of them but BWV because you never know when your assigned room might be 1/2 mile from the lobby.

I don't know that we have a one and done necessarily, though we do have preferences on where to stay. The only resort I think we have stayed at only once was BWV. I just remember long hallways and I didn't care for the decor, I know it has been updated since though. But I wouldn't say never again. Our number one is always BCV, the only downside to owning there is there is no 3 bedroom villas. And even as an owner certain times of year can be tough to book the rooms we want. We are good to stay anywhere really though.

Our one and done is a studio at OKW. When we first visited the Riviera we never thought we would like it. Then we stayed there and absolutely loved it. SSR has become one of my favorites as well. Home is still BWV though.

VGF was one and done for us. The point prices were super high and the villas were nice, but the VGF still had that snooty GF feel. It's all so fake, it makes me crazy.
I personally liked RIV, but I thought it was somewhat soulless. I felt like the resort was dull and boring, but the Skyliner and the restaurants made up for it.

I have some less than favorites at WDW but would stay at any of them if nothing else was available.
My only one and done is HHI. We did not see the appeal of the resort, and the island was busy/touristy and not what I expected. I've read stories about the great staff there, but they weren't the best when we visited. To each their own.

I don’t think I really have a one and done. We stayed every month this winter for 4 nites in a different resort and loved each one for different reasons. January was a great stay at OKW in a one bedroom, always book near HH. Loved Olivia’s esp. pineapple coconut warm bread, walking the resort every morning before pool time, key lime Dole Whip and great staff. February was One bedroom at Boardwalk- love, love love the refurb. Shared a wall with Jelly Rolls which was dicey, we were so tired it really didn’t bother us. March was two nights in a GF resort studio and 2 nights in a refurbed 1 bedroom standard view at Boardwalk. I was actually surprised how much I enjoyed GF. The huge zero entry area in the pool made for wonderful sun bathing and chatting, the burger at Gasparillo rivals Bison burger and the service is just a cut above anywhere else in our experience. There was a gator in the lagoon that security was trying to catch ( they were chumming with marshmallows 😂)- really enjoyed watching their efforts on my balcony with morning coffee. Walk to MK was cool. It was maybe a little “snooty,” lots of people wearing Lily somebody clothing (which was very cheerful looking, but i would look silly in it) but since I’m older I’m not really feeling snooty like I once did. Next month is our last visit for awhile in a 2 bedroom refurb at BR with 2 and 4 year old grandkids. Boulder Ridge appeals to me in so many ways, love the proximity to MK but the Pacific Northwest serenity I feel when I stay there. I also really enjoy the Bison burger( did I mention that?) and seeing the occasional armidillo. Gosh, I love DVC💕

Our 'one & done' was Boulder Ridge - handicap room where DH flooded the bathroom with the shower (didn't lower the shower head) and pulled a thigh muscle slipping on the floor. LOL. When I was done laughing I had to hunt for more tp because the roll was soaked. LOL
We've had a couple 'few & done' that aren't really done but there's always SSR so no Boardwalk, Old Key West, Kidani and Fort Wilderness. We actually enjoyed the DVC Floridan and Rivera but not enough to actually try again. Enjoyed the bathroom layout in both.
My next places to stay are the Lodge Cabins, Ft Wilderness Cabins and Poly Cabana. I'm hoping to do the FT Wilderness Cabins in December and the Lodge Cabins/PVB Cabana around our February cruise. We'll see. Once we do that we'd've stayed every place that is currently open for at least one night.

We couldn't care less how far the room is from the lobby. Besides, there are many doors for entry, so we can always use a different one. We get, and love, the BW view rooms.
Cheers.

Definitely seeing a lot of lack of love for VGF. We're going to enjoy our stay one way or another, even if we never come back. We love the lobby of the main building enough to make that part of the enjoyment.
Cheers.

Knowing the stairwells and exit doors saves a lot of time and steps at BWV.

Knowing the stairwells and exit doors saves a lot of time and steps at BWV. Yup. Some are out-only and that matters, too. We use them a lot when we go out running. Of course, with BW View rooms and high floor request, we so far have always ended up in the same general part of the building where we know that ins and outs...literally.
Cheers.

Least favorites that we have visited once and not come back are Saratoga and Animal Kingdom (actually own 240 points there due to buying without fully understanding DVC and guide telling us everything is available at 7 months (not true)). We prefer to stay in areas walkable to parks, favorites are BCV, BWV (mine) and GF (wife). BLT is growing on us.
I'm sure once Grand Kids arrive there will be renewed interest in AK.
