Glad you've had a good trip, despite the weird weather. It must be really hard to predict Florida weather. We always go at the end of July 🥵 and we just go in with the attitude that it's probably going to rain at some point, we come prepared, and enjoy it when it does rain because it keeps the crowds low! I'm hopeful we have the same experience with fewer crowds when we go next month. I don't anticipate using Genie+ (always say I won't), but there have been times when I seriously think about it. We were there the week before Christmas and didn't use it and didn't feel like we needed to except on one day at Hollywood Studios, but we likely wouldn't have been able to get anything we wanted on Genie either.

Food prices I feel the same here. My zoo probably charges more for foods than similar at Disney so i think we're doing okay. I agree with food prices at our local zoo; we bought a chicken caesar wrap recently and it came with a bag of potato chips and I think it was like $15 or something, then maybe $4 for a fountain drink with free refills. I said to wife, "Those are Disney prices!" Actually, I feel like for $15 the wrap should have come with fries instead of chips but they probably don't have a fryer at the zoo food court. Speaking of chips instead of fries, my wife is 100 per cent burned out on those "home-style kettle chips" they have been giving at Disney quick services. Me too. I get it, but I'd rather have a bag of cheetos or something. A year ago I asked the lady at Min + Bill's Dockside Diner in HS if I could have it without the chips, she said she used to be able to do that but now they don't let her. So I said "well I might as well take the chips then." Actually I think they were plantain chips. I seem to recall they got left in the room on checkout day.

Cheers.

They serve the chips with the BLT sliders at Brown Derby Lounge. I like them.
And crunchy Cheetos >>> puffy Cheetos.

Cheetos are nasty orange phosphorescent Styrofoam That sounds like the description for "circus peanuts". In my youth, I painted a car with spray cans. A whole car. Which in retrospect, was not the most efficient paint delivery medium for doing an entire car. I think I used 19 cans of paint, and probably 10 cans of primer or something. Turned out nicely, though... Well the primer in this particular brand smelled very similar to "circus peanuts" and to this day, I don't think I could eat a circus peanut if someone were to offer me one.

And crunchy Cheetos >>> puffy Cheetos. Yeah I don't understand why they even sell puffy Cheetos. I assume they got tired of store brands making money selling "cheesy poofs" and said "we can make those, they are just a cheap version of real cheetos."

See now you said the word "plutonium" and I'm thinking about the scene in the mall in the first "Back to the Future". "I sold them a bunch of used pinball machine parts!"
Who else watched that too many times and noticed that in that scene, the mall is called "Twin Pines Mall" on the sign outside. Things happen, he goes back in time to when it was farmland, ends up crashing through a small tree and into a barn, and the farmer is of course furious. Toward the end of the movie, we see that the sign outside the mall is "Lone Pine Mall"

Plantain chips are a different thing and would be better. I tend to ask for fruit if I can swap out. Sometimes they will for me. And they're delicious... especially dipped in Mayo.
