There is no choice here. We love our time at WDW but, while England in Epcot does have a London vibe, it is an amusement park. Real London is one of our favorite places and has so much more to offer. As others have said, the cost is comparable in either case but I'd suggest that even for up to 50% more London (or anywhere real world) is the better choice.
As for SFO-MCO, it's best to try to book that AS flight as close to 11 months out as possible. Living in the South Bay, we take that flight all the time. And we can typically get F for well under $1K
Cheers. First Class Round trip for under $1k from Cali to UK is really good. yeah, I wish. Business class is around $4k. We'll be flying coach. Or at least the kids will. I'll pay for a decently priced upgrade for DW and myself.

First Class Round trip for under $1k from Cali to UK is really good. I believe BRP is saying first class RT to MCO, not London. In my experience, business class on British Airlines can be had for $3200-$3800. Or, of course, redeem some points via transfers from Chase, AMEX, Capital One, etc. Doh....I totally missed the MCO

Re: SFO to MCO, the AS flight is generally the best option but is insanely priced around Xmas and Spring Break. In a few more years we'll be free of the school calendar! We'll have six days in London, so definitely not enough time to pop over to DLP. My wife said she spotted a Beauty and the Beast themed afternoon tea. If anyone else has any afternoon tea place recommendations, do tell. Also would appreciate any suggestions on things to do in and around London with teenagers. It will be the first week of April so I would expect cool, rainy weather. The Globe Theater will not have any shows during this time. Not sure about soccer matches. I'll need to look into that. We will definitely hit several West End stage shows. I saw several the last time I went on a business trip for amazingly low prices for last minute tickets. Regarding what to do with teenagers, start with their interests. You’ll find a museum for just about everything. If anyone is a Harry Potter fan, then the studios tour is a must. I would avoid getting suckered into the coach inclusive tours. You can go by train and then simply get a taxi / Uber at the other end. But you’ll need to book now.

SFO to MCO is a little over $1K RT (I price things one way as that's the way I book them). Can be had for maybe $1100.
For west coast (SFO, LAX) to London, about $3500-$4K for business, just as you say. First is quite a bit more, but that's what upgrades are for.
Cheers.

We were in London for four days in August while on our way to Glasgow for the World Pipe Band championships. We had dinner at The Sky Garden one night. Wonderful views of the city in a great setting. Live music and a number of dining venues. Reservations suggested and it’s in a convenient location for walkers etc….

We have only visited London once but enjoyed it, I agree with others that say go to London over WDW.
Of the museums we really liked the British Museum which has the Rosetta Stone on display along with at lot of Egyptian displays and most are very accessible. We also did a "cab tour" the first day in to get the lay of the land. The tour was a guy in a cab, he said he hadn't taken a paying fair in 20 years but keep his cab license up to date so he could park almost anywhere. We would pretty much just drive up in front of where we were going stop and get out. One day we took the train out to Richmond (think Ted Lasso) and did a bike tour out through the Deer Park, which was a lot of fun and got us out of the city for the day. The train system in London (as in most of Europe) is very easy to use. I agree with you about the westside shows, unfortunately it looks like you will just miss the new Disney show "Hercules" but might be worth keeping an eye on when it will open.
