Hello, everyone I haven't been active in quite a while. We are headed back to Disney in January. I thought we may hear something about the Cake Bake Shop by now. Anyone hear anything other than sometime in 2024?
There will be DH, DS, and myself for have of our 12 day trip. Then joining my DD, and her boyfriend. All adult ages withe the youngest 22. We haven't been since December 2019 into early January 2020.
We are also looking for a different restaurant to try. A sit down preferably. On our list are
Le Cellier Wine Bar George Narcoosees
Artist Point
All feedback is appreciated.
Le Cellier is still good. We were there a few months ago and was not disappointed.
Wine Bar George has not made it into our rotation. I hear it is very good.
Narcoossees is one of out top 5 favorite restaurants in WDW.
Artist Point is now a character dining experience. The food is a downgrade from what it use to be and its a bit pricey for what you get. But if you want to see the characters, then give it a try!
We ate at Narcossee's on our last visit since we were staying at GF. It was quite excellent and I would definitely recommend. Wine Bar George has too limited a menu for what we like, but could work well for others.
Cheers.

Wine Bar George is one of our favorites, and while everything we have gotten has been delicious, the food menu is somewhat limited. We really enjoy getting a bottle of wine, the cheese/charcuterie board and an app, and just enjoying the evening.

I had never heard of it. I just looked it up and it looks delicious. Some of the steak prices are pretty high in my opinion. No matter where you go you are paying higher prices now. I think we will try it. There are so many great choices at DS but in the parks it seems blah.

And, realistically, the steak prices are in in line with places like Narcossee's.
Cheers.

The only one I have been to is the Boathouse and that's our number 1 so far. It use to be Flying Fish until the refurbishment and chef change. Once that took place we went once and probably will never go again. I don't like the interior. It looked better before and the food wasn't appealing either.

I was 100% shocked by the prices on that Cake Bake Shop menu. I'm used to high prices at Disney and even back at home but Holy Cow!! I consider that in the insane money-grab category and even though many of both the meal and cake items sound inviting, sorry....nope. Just. Can't. Do. It.

For those prices on the WDW Cake Bake Shop menu, I could probably drive to Indiana from NC, stay in a hotel, and go to the original. I will be passing on this restaurant. Insane prices.

Any news on what will go in place of Big River Grille??? I haven't heard anything yet For those prices on the WDW Cake Bake Shop menu, I could probably drive to Indiana from NC, stay in a hotel, and go to the original. I will be passing on this restaurant. Insane prices. Better look at the prices for the Cake Bake in Indiana first. They're lower, but not by a huge margin. Some of the drinks at WDW are actually cheaper (not sure which, but this was someone who goes regularly to the other for special occasions). It's to frilly for me and $8 for a coke is where I draw the line.

What? The drink? There's a coke drink? Never mind...
Cheers.

Ha ha ha. Last time I paid $8 for a coke I was in Venice. Ice was extra.

Any news on what will go in place of Big River Grille??? Like Elaine said, no word on a replacement.
To help make up for the loss of Big River Grille, there is suppose to be Food Trucks to pride additional dining choices. Is it still at the Boardwalk, I don't know. Is it a replacement for Big River Grille.....Not even close. I am really surprised that here we are 9 months later and there has been zero rumors of a replacement.
