Yes, you can show up anytime after your boarding group has been called, even if it has expired (been more than 1 hour). Just this past February, we arrived at the ride over 5 hours after our group was called and had no issues. You must have an Epcot park reservation in order to try for a boarding group at 7 am. To try at 1 pm, you must have already entered Epcot. So in other words, if hopping, you can only get one if they are still available after 2:00, right? Correct. Haven't followed it lately, but the 1 pm drop has stayed open for quite some time recently, BUT with it being Spring Break now, it may start to fill faster again.

We head down on Saturday, with our flight expected to land at 12:45 pm. But we have Epcot reservations that day, so am thinking I'll try for one, and then we should be able to ride whenever we actually get there. Thanks for the info! Yes, with the exception of Mondays if at a deluxe resort if you happen to be there still. You can try for the after hours at 6pm without having an Epcot reservation or tapping in yet. We are flying Thursday and will be trying for a VQ even though we don't arrive until about noon. I fully expect to have no issues. Last year we were checking out and I accidentally got BG1 and arrived way after our window no issues.

This thread tracks it well. 1pm drop is still about 1.5 hours even with some random spring breaks this week. Next week is the real local spring break and a lot of TX as well (us too). The week after seems to be roughly the other half of Florida forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/guardians-of-the-galaxy-cosmic-rewind-virtual-queue-and-lighting-lane-status.977353/

Dumb Question, about Apple Music Classical, not Disney
So apparently, Apple bought out a classical music library, and will launch a new app later this month just for classical music. It will be no cost for current subscribers of Apple Music. (Sure, Apple. No cost. At launch. What about a few years down the line, huh?)
oops, pardon me, still on 1st cup of coffee.
Anyhoo, the article I read mentioned the ability to search it all kinds of ways, which I guess is nice if you prefer a particular recording of a certain work (and actually know the details of what to search for.) But nothing was said about the existing classical music on the original app.
One of the things I like about AppleMusic is the fact that one of the “radio stations” has my name on it. And it will play a random assortment of things similar to the random stuff I listen to. So, I can let that one station play, and possibly hear Mozart, Yaz, Alan Jackson, October Project, Depeche Mode, Ke$ha, Fifth Harmony, Encanto, John Williams, Queen, Beethoven, All that Jazz, and whatever else the logarithm kicks out. So, I guess I’m okay with the new library being in a separate app since it has more search tags and I can see why it would be too big of a lift to modify the existing app. But what about the classical music ALREADY in the current app. Will it stay there?

Well heck, I just noticed my “Waiting for ROFR” status. I was finally in a one-bedroom on the old site. Phooey.

So, I can let that one station play, and possibly hear Mozart, Yaz Ha ha, you said "Yaz"!! High five! I forget about Yaz, and I thought I was the only person in the world that ever heard that name. Sometimes, when I'm in the mood and I'm flipping through the records, I find that album "Upstairs at Eric's" I think it's called, with the mannequins seated at a table...I love staring at that cover, wondering what the story is. Then I put the record on and that one, for some reason, is one of those where I think, "This sounds fantastic."

I didn’t know that was a possibility. (I was wondering how some folks had managed to post so much already this year, LOL!)

Going against my own advice, we are doing a family trip. Wife and I already have our room, but now I am getting two more studios for other people. Stupid question: For their rooms, I just book them like normal, right? Except when doing it, I will erase our names and put theirs in there? For instance, when booking, it will say something like "Person #1 (this will be the main contact for this reservation)" and it will say "Adelard of Bath", I will delete "Adelard of Bath" and type my sister's name and then her family? So my name won't be on it at all? I mean the computer will know I made the reservation but I won't be listed as one of the people in the room.
Room #2 will be for my mom, she has no email - I will presumably put mine. Will the computer care?
I kind-of want to put my email on the room for my sister and her family, too, just so it's all here and I know what's going on. Any reason not to do this? Or will it come back to be a problem later.
If I make these reservations for the other people and my name isn't on it, will I still be able to log in and see them, and make changes?

You will still own the reservation and can view it, modify it etc through the DVC website. And you can put your email address on them if you want to. The person named as lead guest will need the reservation number so they can link it to their MDE account.

They've been to Disneyland a number of times but they haven't been to Florida so I don't know if they have an MDE or not. She will have no problems making that, though When I get the rooms, I think I will put my email on there and then she can link the room later in her MDE.

Hi Guys...I just registered on the site. I've been observing for a few weeks. I had registered years ago on MO in order to try out renting from DVC owners. Right when I got to planning that trip I got laid up with ankle surgery and then the pandemic hit. Anyway, I've been watching a thread in the "Questions about Renting" section and have seen some indication that maybe some owners are leery about renting to new folks to the forum. I'm also wondering, based on some of the comments, whether I've found the right place. So here's my first stupid question, lol.... Am I welcome to be a member on this forum if I'm not actually a DVC owner and would be looking to rent from time to time? Or is this place meant to be for actual owners only? I was thinking this site would be a great resource for connecting with DVC owners looking to rent stays when I am in the market, which seems like a win win for everyone. But if that's naïve, I don't want to cause any strife or stick my nose where it doesn't belong, lol. It also looks like a great place to get info for whenever I'm planning a trip (we go about once a year or two, last year went to DL, DW and a cruise!). I'm aware of the google forms spreadsheet, but still haven't reached out to anyone yet. I came across this thread of stupid questions today and it seems like a good place to start!

jonboy, you are absolutely welcome to be a member on this forum! There are owners and non-owners; and some who originally joined Mouseowners as renters and eventually ended up as owners…. 😆 So welcome aboard!

I was reading Mouseowners when wife and I were just staying cash at the normal resorts - I kept finding answers here with a real-life sensibility and the discussions could turn fun at any time. This is where I learned about DVC, and that there was this world of "used points" aka resale. I kept tuned in, and wife and I kept going on trips (staying at moderates and values on cash), and one thing led to another, it all made sense and bam.
I love it when new people join, it's exciting! There's been lots of people over the years I think, that Post #1 was like "We don't own but we are renting, what about this and this and this" and it's always good stuff.

Awesome. Thanks for the insight. This blind squirrel will keep fumbling around and see what nuts I find! It sounds like there's not an official place yet for me to post specific date ranges and resorts I'm looking for. I'm still trying to figure out how to best make use of the google forums spreadsheet without just cold emails/messages to a bunch of people. I have fairly specific dates and resorts in mind for this fall, but don't see a lot of dedicated reservations listed there. Thanks again Adelard and nickys!
