My favorites are the old-school ways to highlight text, use all the time for reply and other typing. Home, end, left right, page up/down, any of the above while holding shift to highlight. Can't stand trying to drag the cursor around with the mouse.
My most used, though, are in youtube: left and right! Jumps forward or back 5secs. Use it constantly. Also space for pause. And "<" or ">" to speed up or slow down. And if you are paused, you can use period or comma to move individual frames. Usually I start a video and almost instantly bump the speed up (everyone talks so slow!). Then if/when they say something I want to hear again, I hit the left arrow quick. Then I hit space to pause it if I want to think about it, or walk away from computer or something. Or if they are really boring me, it's like right arrow...right arrow...right arrow...right arrow...

When I click on "new posts" it lists SO MUCH. I can think choose "new" under the select drop down. That seems to highlight things I haven't read. All this seems good, except that it's a bit more work than the old board, but I can get there. The problem I have is that I want those things to now be marked as read, even if I haven't read them. Some threads I don't care about and don't read, but I don't want them to stay in the "new posts" section forever. So, after highlighting the threads that have "new" posts, The select then shows this: What the heck do these things do? I can't figure it out...they seem to change the number of items shown on new posts, but "1 Day" I thought should mean anything older than one day would be marked as read? That doesn't seem to be the case. Anyone understand this?

So, when a thread has multiple pages you have to scroll back to the top of the thread to go to the next page. Is there any way to add another list of thread pages on the bottom of the thread list so it is both on the top and the bottom? I also am frequently confused by this. I didn't know the top bar floated, so I will try to remember that. But every other forum I've been on has the links at the bottom also. I instinctively look down there to see if there are more pages. And I've missed plenty of posts and conversation just because I get to the bottom of page 1, don't see any links at the bottom of the page, and close out the browser. For a desktop browser can you leave the float and add the bottom bar as well? I don't see any harm in making the site more navigable. I also think that when we click "Reply" on someone's post, it should quote the post we're replying to. I know that there is a separate "Quote" button, but I'm just throwing out my 2 cents here. Since we don't have the threads drill down similar to Reddit, you wouldn't know who is replying to what otherwise.

Since we don't have the threads drill down similar to Reddit, you wouldn't know who is replying to what otherwise. This is ,more what I'm used to as well from other places. "Quote" adds things to a multi-quote list. 'Reply" replies while quoting. And "Quick Reply," which this forum also has at the bottom just adds a post without quoting anyone. We have have "Multi Quote" here and it seems 4 locations (3 buttons and the QR box) for 3 behaviors. Definitely can work, but I routinely hit 'Reply" expecting to quote the post and then I jsut hit Back and "Quote." Cheers.

These are actually both improvements to reduce scrolling to the bottom. I have run and created many forums over the last 2 decades and many behave this way. Not all do, but I honestly prefer to be better tech than older forums. So please respect this and understand how much time goes into this site by me. The posts like this** really start to wear on me as I feel there is a lack of appreciation for how time thought and time goes into the making of this site.

Helenabear you are rocking this and made it happen, thank you!
We will figure this out. In with the new. I know I am more set in my ways so slower to navigate, but I’m learning. Old dog new trick thing. 🤔🤣🤣

So no feedback or suggestions on usability, since you've decided what's best. Got it. Nope, not what I said. I said please appreciate my time. Also appreciate there are limitations on software. Finally appreciate software improvements and why we want to stay with improvements instead of reverting. Change is hard I get it, but some things are better in the long run. So when making complaints or even suggestions, appreciate that choices were made by many and not just one. I never do anything here without consulting others. Even replying as I did earlier about this topic was not a singular action. I have taken quite a few suggestions that were constructive and changed. Others nope, sorry. Either not possible or simply not a best option. Just remember buttons are written to be exactly what they mean: Quote Reply Multi Quote And remember scrolling so much is not needed. The posts like this really start to wear on me as I feel there is a lack of appreciation for how time thought and time goes into the making of this site. Well I appreciate it, so thank you for all you do. I do appreciate that. It's been insane in my house due to BATB and I really haven't had much time to enjoy this place as I normally would.

I am on desktop. There is nothing at the bottom of the threads that lets me go to the next page. I'm also on a desktop. And, while there is nothing at the bottom, the top bar floats down so it is always visible no matter how far down I scroll so I can use that button.
Cheers.
(oops, didn't see that henrycpa found it before I posted ) Same here. Now I see it:)

If it causes issues let me know.

If you click on the MagicOwners.com right above the posts (not the banner at the top but the one on the same line as Participated) there are quick selections to get you to a new sub board and such. Edit: here's a screenshot
