Count me in as a non-fan of Genie+. The idea of having to be awake at 7:00AM to try to purchase and not knowing what rides I then will be able to get if I can purchase.....not a relaxing way to start the day. I don't expect the old free Fastpass+ to ever come back but I did like the way it worked. The fact I knew what rides, and when, ahead of the park day allowed us to plan our activities much better. LL - not for us either. Tired of the "nickel and diming" Disney keeps implementing under the guise of "Guest Satisfaction".

We fly in from the West Coast (so rope dropping just isn't going to happen with the time difference) and go Christmas week. So when we went in 2021, I knew Genie+ and ILL would be the way to be able to go on the attractions we wanted without ridiculous wait times. And it was the first time we were bringing my DD's (then) fiance, so I wanted him to have a good time and a positive experience. I made it work, but the cost was lots of research before the trip and then several days of waking up at the equivalent of 4 am to my body to make the first Genie+ selection, and then trying to go back to sleep for 2 hours until I could make the next one. Rinse and repeat. I was pretty stressed out and tired by day 4 or 5. We also did ILL for Rise, but I think we were successful with the Virtual Queue for Remy. That experience had me wanting to not go back. I'm not thrilled with the additional cost, however, that said, I would really, REALLY like it if we could book Genie+ selections and ILL selections in advance. It doesn't need to be 60 days or whatever it used to be. I would even settle for booking our selections the day before (not ideal, but better than the 4 am wake up every day). I think that's part of the problem is the 7am thing. Also checking throughout the day there was less G+ availability vs FP+ both ade negatives to me.

We are planning our next trip to WDW for September of ‘23 and we have not been since 2012. My head is SPINNING! I am a planner and all the new details with Genie+ an LL are killing me. We will be meeting up with family so our kids can ride together but I’m not sure this will work with all the reservations that need to be made. The one saving grace is that we are going in early September and pulling the kids out of school so hopefully we can get in rides without paying these extras?
