Hey there! So recently, since being back from Xmas in MD, we got to try 2 new restaurants for us. First was Space 220. I had been trying and trying to get it since it opened. Had the TP searches and stalked like mad. I book 1 DVC night a month to use points and eat and drink with the hubby while not having to drive the 15-30 mins home. We had CCV booked with plans to meet neighbors at Hoop Dee Doo but a week before something came up and the HDD needed to be rescheduled. So like 2 or 3 nights before check in I was just looking on the ADR booker and what did I see....a spot at Space 220. Heck yeah! Booked.
We went to Epcot for lunch at FART booths. Then back to CCV to get set up in room and head to Geyser for beer. DH loved it there and we had a 1st floor room like 60 feet to Geyser...perfection. We popped out patio and on over for some beer and wine.
By the time we got to Space for dinner we had been D3ing a bit. So maybe not the best way to try a new, and expensive, venue. Plus I didn't want anymore drinks so I didn't try the lovely creative cocktails.
Fun atmosphere. Price is a bit high. Some of what I chose was yummy and my main was a little disappointing (fish). DH got the filet and that really is the way to get the best bang for your buck. He got some highball looking drink. Think we had beets and I got pistachio desert thing. They were good. I tried his filet and it was yummy. DH said he'd go back but I feel it's a one and done or maybe the one you do every few years, not a must do. I'd like to just do the lounge sometime soon, though, and try the drinks.
Then Valentines the hubs surprised me and booked IL Mulino. He would not tell me and we just pulled up and walked into Swan. I have always wanted to go as I love Italain though most of my family do not. So I was pleased. It was really really good. DH even enjoyed it and wants to go back. We have been doing a lot of the Bonnett Creek hotel venues (and Four Seasons and such) and they are so good and pricey but we felt better deal for better food than Disney. But IL Mulino was on par food wise but not as pricey as the BC venues. Not bad at all. Like Capa was probably twice what we spent at IL Mulino. So check that one on the go back list.
We also went to Flying Fish not long ago. With friends after D3ing it ALL day. From what I recall there, it was also good. It was our 1st visit. Need to go back.
Also went to Jaleo at DS with same friends not long ago and were sober and remember it. It was yummy yummy too but took more coordinating with selecting all the small plates the 4 of us liked. Not sure we will rush back there.
I can post pics later and maybe add some more dining reviews. Maybe add more details to these. We also went with the friends to STK for lunch. The 3 friend meals were back I'm either July or Nov. I will have to pull pics and think about it more and add details.
Maybe do a running 'eating around Disney' thread.
