Hey everyone!
I'm going to start this thread early because this is going to be an interesting adventure this spring. I'm taking two trips to Disney in March. One a wild crazy 48 hour adventure to ride Tron & Guardians. And then a week later, by train with my uncle's family for 10 days.
March 12th at the godawful hour of 6:00 a.m., my brother and I are flying down by different airlines to Orlando. We've got an annual pass preview booked on Tron at 2:00 p.m. I managed to score a night at the Dolphin with my Marriott points. We come home 48 hours later. He flies Monday night at 11:00 p.m. and I fly Tuesday morning at 6:00 a.m. I wanted to make sure I got a full day at Epcot. But it does mean I'm going to have to couch surf at the hotel for a couple hours before getting my ride to the airport.
Then a few days later, I'm coming down by Auto Train on Saturday March 18th with my uncle and both of his sons. Now you know my uncle and my cousin as frequent travel companions. But now the older brother wants to join. What's interesting for him is that he's also on the spectrum. Very high functioning but not a crowd person. And he has never been to a theme park before. Or to Florida. Lots of firsts for him. And for us as we figure out what sort of trip he would enjoy. We're also going to try to get him a DAS to help with some of those crowd issues. (Yes I have one of my own, but this would give them more independence. I know there are many rides that I will do, that my cousin just cannot. Especially roller coasters.)
Now we're all staying at Saratoga Springs until March 29th. Two rooms. I have a big two bedroom all to myself so that I can invite the rest of my family. That includes the brother (Brohawk) as well as my sister, a nephew and his girlfriend (driving down from Savannah), and the newlywed niece who has a quick weekend trip planned.
The family weekend when all of them will be there, is March 24th to the 26th. We plan on going to Cirque de Soleil's Drawn to Life on Sunday the 26th. That's our Disney Springs day. The Friday and Saturday before that will be park hopping madness. We're going to try to go on as many rides as possible.
Now my friend Sherry (SheWill) will also be in town staying at her beloved Beach Club (and hopefully a few days afterwards with me). So you'll probably see her mentioned in our blogs. She and my uncle get along famously. And I know all of them are dying to go on Flight of Passage, her favorite. Unfortunately it's the one ride I cannot go on because of accessibility issues.
I'm really excited about our travels. So excited I'm making some more wardrobe for the adventure. And I'll share as much as I can while I'm there.
Right now I can't believe I'm actually crazy enough to fly down the weekend before my regularly scheduled trip. Makes me wish I traveled like I did with my dad, we would go for 3 weeks in March. Stay off site for two of them. I might have to rethink that for next year.
