Free wine and spirit seminars at International Food and Wine We were partial to the cooking demos over the wine and spirits (although enjoyed that, too). At this point, I'd even take the paid options back. We have made several of the recipes.
Cheers.

Downtown Disney (While I really like Disney Springs, when it was the smaller Downtown Disney it was a relaxing place to get away from the crowds) For the same reason, you would have REALLY liked what it was before Downtown Disney, when it was the Disney Village Marketplace. Then before that, when it was the quaint Walt Disney World Village, and then before THAT when it was the sleepy little "Lake Buena Vista Shopping Village". I've been plenty of times when it was "Marketplace" but I wish I could go back in time and wander around when it was just "Village"

One disappearance I was sorry to see was that of Kouzzina by Cat Cora on the Boardwalk. I know that restaurant was not well-rated on the net, and my view may be in a small minority. My family enjoyed a great meal there the year before it left, and I was sorry not to be able to go back. In a different category of disappearance, I note the frequent changes in the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, which I think have made it less epic and spectacular -- and presumably less offensive or triggering to folks outside the diminishing population with personal recollection of the Greatest Generation or the enemies they defeated. Although there were plenty of such changes in the show before 2021, an interesting summary of the 2021 changes may be found at blogmickey.com/2021/12/detailed-list-of-indiana-jones-epic-stunt-spectacular-changes/ . Obviously, the show has to serve appropriately the population of future guests who will be seeing it. I do wonder if now impolitic elements of Raiders of the Lost Ark may cause the show to be rescripted to a totally independent plot soon. The powers that be would not have to change its name.

I had to look on Wikipedia, where it lists August 25, 1989 as the opening date for the Stunt Spectacular. I was there Christmas 89 as a young person, and have been going regularly ever since. It is somewhat surprising to me the the show still runs, very much the same, 32 years later.
In a similar time-frame (late 80s early 90s) Universal used to run a Miami Vice stunt show featuring speed boats in a lagoon. I enjoyed that quite a bit, but I doubt it is still going. Actually based on what I see about Universal when I occasionally check out videos and decide that I'm not missing anything, not much about Uni appears to same as it was 30 years ago.
Speaking of, I miss the Backstage Tour at MGM quite a bit.

Riding with the driver on the monorail…that’s a good one! We got pixie dusted with this opportunity last summer. My 11 yr old son LOVES trains and the monorail, always has since he was little. He had a monorail shirt on and we were waiting at the monorail station at EPCOT to go back to Poly. My son was talking to the station attendant about his love of the monorail and trains after the attendant noticed his shirt. When the monorail pulled into the station, the attendant knocked and opened the drivers cab and spoke with the driver. The driver came out and waved us into the front with him and we rode to the TTC in the front. It was a great! My son is never going to stop talking about it!

I miss the ease of going to WDW. Luggage service, magical express, fast passes....it's getting to be more and more work, more and more money with diminished returns. We still have a great time and can't wait to take the newest grandson's in 2025 right before they turn 3.

It is impressive that Harrison Ford and John Rhys-Davies (Sallah) will also be in the fifth film, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, which I believe is scheduled for release on June 30th this year. I also miss parts of the Backstage Tour. The old net bags of prop "bombs" hanging overhead in the rafters of the staging area somehow makes me think of the unrelated "Roger Roger" droid soldiers in Star Wars -- it is the sort of thing they would do with bombs if told to store them.

So many good memories in this thread.
Spectromagic Parades in all four parks Fast Passes ParkHopping Magical Express Airline check in Non expiring tickets Animation Academy Good quality resort specific merch The World Showcase Players Citizens of Hollywood Pleasure Island! I miss having an adults only zone. Late pool hours, they close way too early. We used to return from a park late at night and be able to relax in the pool. Not needing to have my cell phone out. Walking in to QS and being able to peruse the menu. Not always a fan of mobile order. The previous iteration of Top of the World Lounge. We would often head there after a park day, and enjoy late night drinks and snacks. Happening upon random characters. Being able to get in to Beaches and Cream! Little classes and demos at the Epcot festivals. I haven't noticed them being offered lately. Riding in the front of the monorail Alien Encounter Mickey's Toontown Food Rocks Quieter times of year
We still have fun on our trips, but it feels like so much work now. I miss the ease and being able to go with the flow.

Yes, exactly. I miss being able to wander down to the concierge desk and get a reservation for a character meal the same/next day. I miss just being able to go into the park and cruise along, stopping when something looked interesting. A vacation shouldn't require quite so much labor...

Love this thread. My list:
Epcot's Lights of Winter to music - the best holiday experience Backlot Tour Annual Passes Unique Food Menus Great Movie Ride Fastpass Star Wars Weekends -- this was SO great. I wish they'd do something like this NOW. Illuminations -- epitome of storytelling Unrestricted Park Hopping -- there's magic to this that isn't measurable, but has positive, long-lasting impact
I'd love to see some of these nostalgic throwbacks make a return. They're doing this Disney 100 thing and I don't think it's landing the way they expected.
Honestly, I'd love to see the Year of a Million Dreams make a comeback. I'd love to see them bring back "The Place Where Magic Lives" feeling and marketing.

Does anyone remember when the Boardwalk Bakery was a working bakery, and that smell of the perfect mix of pastry and coffee? I was just in a bakery in Philadelphia and that was the smell. Had a BW flashback.
