The wife and I were able to attend a pre event at RRBR last night and we enjoyed it. The theming is basically the same as the queue for TSM with tables added. The food was good, not great and is exactly what you would imagine after reading the menu. The hit of the first course was the watermelon salad which was basically chunks of watermelon and the cucumber and tomato salad with the lite vinegar dressing, both of these will be nice on a hot suer day. I have been over Kale for a long time so I wasn't a fan of the 3rd salad. For the main you can pick 4 sides, we had mac and cheese, potato barrels (tater tots), corn on the cobb and baked beans. The tater tots had liquid cheese on the top (not a fan) and a heavy parm coating on the corn. I would ask for both of theses discs bare but that is just my taste. They put a huge plater of meat on the table (there was 4 of us) that included chicken, sausage, brisket and pork ribs. All were prepared with dry seasoning and 3 types of BBQ sauce on the table. All of the meats were cooked perfectly and were very good. For dessert you have a choice of a cup cake (probably what they use for birthdays) or 4 types of pie in a jar plus a cheese cake, these come in a 4 oz mason jars. We had the chocolate silk and cheese cake, to me the cheese cake was by far the best as it was lighter and fresher and acted as a nice palate cleanser to end the evening. The chocolate was a heavy mousse made with dark chocolate, it was good but a bit heavy after a heavy meal.
Over all this place is going to be a hit especially for families with kids and I predict it will be one of the harder reservations to get. As far as Disney food prices go I think it is a decent value. Personally for us it will be a one and done, we just don't like to eat this way as they serve way too much food which not only results in overeating but a tremendous amount of food waste.

Very cool on the early preview. Glad you enjoyed. Likely a one and done for me as well but looking forward to trying sometime soon.

This is the kind of review I like. Enough detail so I get a picture of what it's like. And the conclusion is pretty much what I thought as I saw blogs and photos.

Thanks for the great info. We have one coming up next month, actually looking forward to it, Myself and DS are fans of BBQ, DW DDIL and DGD, they are to a point.

My DD & I will be there the 25th - Two days after opening so here's hoping all the vloggers are done and we can eat in peace. Excited to try. I'll report back. We really enjoyed our meal. Ditto on captjacksfamily review - we tried the fried pickles which I really loved and we had the tater tots with the sauces on the side which I recommend doing. We were not fans of the mac 'n cheese (tasted like boxed Kraft) but it's cute how the server announces the delivery. They will bring you plenty of whatever you request so we tried everything. Our server, Liz, was great! I requested the Forky cupcake (reserved for kids) along with peach/strawberry pie which were good and my DD loved the cheesecake.
Yes, we were surrounded by vloggers literally so that was a little annoying but the restaurant does some cute things - don't want to spoil the experience but it's fun. This type of restaurant was greatly needed in HS - too bad it's not a character meet. We will be back.

Ugggg it's not a la carte. I didn't realize that. And that makes it a no for me. I'm more of a grazer at lunch, which is why I like the HBD lounge. We also liked the HBD lounge (outside patio) I say liked because we stopped there a couple of weeks ago and found no more lounge menu! Only from the restaurant and we did not want full meals. So unless you are ok with charcuterie - no more sliders, etc. We unfortunately left. So disappointed as we loved that option. Sorry to derail the BBQ thread - with that being a fixed menu/price not sure we would do it unless with a group.

I just checked the online menu and it shows Cobb salad, charcuterie, shrimp cocktail and BLT sliders (which I had last year and would definitely have again). They're all gone?? They took the (excellent) burger off of the menu last year. The original sliders (one beef, one duck) have been gone for years. The charcuterie has had items removed. Back to BBQ (I'd leave DHS and eat at Polite Pig before I ate at the new place).

We had the pleasure of trying this week and it was exactly what you'd expect! Perfect for kids, lots of food, great meats all cooked just right. With a party of 6 they bring you two of those platters which was really too much (party of 4 = 1, party of 6 = 2 so you're getting 25% more food per person. I'm guessing at 5 ppl they bring the 2nd so it might be worth asking for a light 2nd platter unless you want some food to go to waste. Just a thought. At Ohana I don't ever care for the steak but here all 4 meats were excellent. Of the brisket, ribs, chicken and sausage none of them were things I'd pass on or say weren't just right. This will be a staple place to visit for years to come. Enjoy!
