The bags from this article are not the kind of reusable I'd prefer. I have a folding nylon one from Target. Folded up, it fits real well in a cargo/hip/back pocket. If you carry a purse or waist pack, it easily fits there, too. Once you unfold it, it has long enough straps and holds A LOT! I don't carry a backpack or other bag to the parks, but if I buy something, I'll still have a bag of some kind to carry. If Disney made this style, I'd get a couple.

The bags they have are not great. I guess delivery to the resort is not coming back? They used a ton of bags for that. Maybe it has and I missed it, but I don’t think so. I know that’s a staffing issue as well. I also shouldn’t assume it’s about bags either LOL, but they stapled those bags too which will pretty much ruin the reusable bags. I don’t buy much anyway anymore, but remembering a bag will be interesting for me. Mobile order uses paper. Their food containers are plastic too in many cases. guess I better put bag on my packing list…. Uniqlo at Springs has paper bags you can purchase. They were inexpensive too. Their check out btw is super cool. You put the shirts, etc in this bin and it rings all the stuff up. No scanning. They have a decent selection of Disney shirts for less $$. For awhile they didn’t, but they seemed better stocked now.

I've bought those on the suggestions of others and wound up hating them as much as I do plastic bags. I prefer the more structured like the Disney ones. My nylon ones I donated. So I am happy with the Disney ones. They fold flat and can stay in the under storage of my car. You could always bring the nylon with you. Disney allows me to use my own bags. Or I should say the one others carry since I take nearly nothing to the parks.

We bought some of these on Amazon and like them a lot. They have their own little pouch attached that you just fold up the bag into in the little pouch that is about the size of a man's wallet. They'll fit in the back pocket of some jeans, but when unfolded, are sturdy and quite large. I got 20 for like $15 or so. Definitely worth it.
Colorado implemented a $0.10 per plastic bag fee this year, and will ban single-use plastic bags next year altogether. I actually like having a few disposable plastic bags around for the odd job, but honestly we had WAY too many and had to take a lot back to the store for recycling. I can see how it was a problem when you multiply my experience by millions of people, with most not recycling them, so I'm fine moving in this direction, but will now have to buy a pack of cheap single-use bags for occasional use.

For the rare times I purchase anything, no problem purchasing a reusable bag as well. There's no way I'll remember to bring one the majority of the time, and the times when I do I'll be annoyed by its presence in my pocket.

We always have a back pack so little stuff is no issue. But I agree with others, they are likely going to lose revenue. Big stuff I would be less likely to buy and plan to go back, then not doing it. So may save me money!

Why Disney, why?
I understand all the optics for this.....Save the earth, Save some money.....blah, blah and so on. This just makes just another headache for people in the parks. Rarely do I go to the Parks to purposely buy something, it usually happens on impulse. I don't carry a backpack and I certainly don't bring reusable bags into the park, like I do at the grocery store. As many people that they will make happy with this policy, they will equally piss off with the policy. Guests will feel nicked and dimed, being forced to buy a bag with their purchases. This is not good customer service.
Reminds me of Christmas Vacation, when Cousin Eddie brings Clark's boss back to the house. To quote.....
Mr. Frank Shirley : Sometimes things look good on paper, but lose their luster when you see how it affects real folks. I guess a healthy bottom line doesn't mean much if to get it, you have to hurt the ones you depend on. It's people that make the difference.
I am curious to see how this policy impacts "in park" spending over the next year.

When they stopped delivering to my resort, I drastically cut back on my in park spending. If I have to carry it, I probably don't really want it. I agree, some people will not be happy with this at all.

Let's be honest here. Throw away water bottles or far worse than plastic shopping bags. I happen to live in an insane County that is outlawed plastic shopping bags. you should see the ridiculousness of grocery shopping. I switched to online ordering and curbside pickup because at least they use paper bags with handles! Do you know how hard it is for disabled person using a wheelchair to carry paper bags without handles? You try it. Then tell me about saving the environment. great move. Completely phasing out plastics is a step in the right direction. Throw-away water bottles will be harder, but one can hope. Cheers.

I think that he only meant it would be harder to get people to give up the plastic water bottles, not that they shouldn't be phased out. I don't want to speak for anyone else, but I'm sure I probably have a collection of Disney plastic bags that can be taken into the parks and reused, if needed. I found one in my feed barn the other day that I had repurposed after a trip. It sounds like they will still be available for those who request one. At least for now.

Throwaway water bottle are a ridiculous waste of resources and pollutant. I would be thrilled if they went away. Just saying that it ain't gonna happen.
With hotel status we are often offered water bottles. We decline as the room invariably has a tap.
Cheers.
