Wait, Dark Shadows! That’s a blast from my childhood. I think it was on at 3:30, I would come home from elementary school and watch. I would have been six in 1966, so I’m not sure when I started watching. I completely was convinced as a child that when I died I wanted a Mausoleumn, lol. I was also six in 1966 (and mrs. brp is also 1960). I adored Dark Shadows. In fact, that was the first album I ever owned. Interesting to see that is has been revived, so to speak. Cheers. So I guess it was a thing back then that moms let theirs kids watch a show about vampire, werewolves and witches, haha. Yes, the music. The opening music I can still hear. Through the years there have been shows that would show clips of it. It was funny to watch how unsophisticated the sets were, the camera angles. As I’m writing this, I just remembered there was a Dark Shadow game, I had it. I always thought Angelic was so beautiful, even though she was evil. |

So this first series “ Dark Shadows: The Beginning “ I had never seen. It is the very first series that show the history about Collinswood and the original cast. Victoria Winters, anyone remember her?

Barnabas makes his debut in this next season. I cant wait until it switches over to color. I cant believe how much I’ve forgotten about the characters and story line. |

I was 8 years old in 1966 and definitely remember coming home from school and watching Dark Shadows as did my friends. I am honest enough to admit that it was sometimes scary. Really liked Barnabas Collins. I remember that the same actor/actress would play multiple characters and the "cliffhangers" on Friday.

I looked it up. Maggie Evens was a adult and also would become the Ghost of Josette Collins, Sarah was the little girl and the town was Collinsport, Maine.

Lots of memories I have to watch it at some point. All of the shows are on the Roku channel. The channel is free to subscribe. Dark Shadows the Beginning has the characters Elizabeth Collins Stoddard ( never left the house in 18 yrs after husband left her),her daughter Carolyn, her brother Roger Collins ,his wife Laura, his young son David, Burke Devlin, Maggie Evans is the waitress and her dad is Sam Evans a painter. Victoria came to Collinwood to be David’s governess and to secretly find out her past ( she grew up in an orphanage). The show is expanding in the setting to several scenes over at the “ old” house where some ghosts are starting to appear. Sadly I only remember Vicki and Elizabeth Stoddard, and only vaguely. |
