Getting ready to watch the Fall of the House of Usher. Doesn’t appear to be anything like I watched in the 70’s starring Vincent Price. Hope I can get through it. Weird. I was just coming here to post about "the Fall of the House of Usher" and here was the last post talking about it.
I will recommend this with some caveats: It is dark, gruesome at times and definitely R-rated. With that said, the story is very interesting. Clearly very loosely based on the Sackler family as the Ushers are the First Family of opioid and related addictions and they are a dynasty just like the Sacklers. The twists and turns in this one, though, are interesting to watch.

On movies, Wonka was great. Timothée Chalamet was fabulous and the resemblance to Gene Wilder is a nice touch. The story is amusing and the performances grand.

Now that dreadful winter is upon us, I thought this would be a good time to recommend some binge worthy series and movies to get us through the next few months.
I’m still waiting for “ Oppenheimer ” to come to streaming services. Hoping “ Barbie” moves on from Apple + as that is the one I don’t have.
Finishing up the last season of “ The Crown”, then moving on to the latest season of “Call of the Midwife”.

Season 2 of Reacher is on Amazon Prime Video. If you've read the books you'll love this series with Alan Ritchson. He is sooooo much better than Tom Cruise was in the two movies. I've read that they are already filming Season 3.

We're on season 3 of Fargo on Hulu. First two were really good, but we've only seen 3 of the 10 episodes. It could improve.

Season 2 of Reacher is on Amazon Prime Video. If you've read the books you'll love this series with Alan Ritchson. He is sooooo much better than Tom Cruise was in the two movies. I've read that they are already filming Season 3. We really like this. We did say though that yesterday’s episode didn’t move the story along much though. |

Season 2 of Reacher is on Amazon Prime Video. One thing to note is that, starting next year, Prime will have commercials without a monthly fee. I'm actually good with this as I want to support the content and I don't find the commercials too onerous on my free Paramount+.

We are enjoying “For All Mankind” on Apple TV. It’s an occasionally alternative storyline of the space program beginning in the 1960s. Definately binge worthy.

Nothing new here but last night we "rented" the latest Mission Impossible and we both thought it was a blast. This is one I really really really wanted to see in the theater but it just didn't work out.
Sometimes when I order stuff on Amazon I choose to have it come a day later if they are offering a digital credit of $1.50 or something. They stack up in my account and voila, free 5.99 movie rental.

Funny you should mention that. We bought the original Rudolph around the holidays as it's something we will watch annually using digital credits obtained in this way. Still have $1.01 left, expiring March 31. Looking at the seasons of Museum Access that we have not seen for free. Very cool show.

“Oppenheimer” streaming on Peacock February 16th! At some point, it will move over to another streaming platform. I think Prime is next.
