I occasionally check the WDW app and the Genie + is $35 today!!!! That is out of control. When we were there last month I did buy it a few days which was helpful as we are not rope drop people but I think we paid $20 which I thought was a lot for the 3 of us but I think they went over even my ceiling at that price..

What is out of control is that people will still race each other to be first to buy it. As long as everyone's buying, price will keep going up. I read posts on facebook where people have to get it every day! We just got home from WDW for spring break... didnt buy G+ and rode so much - way more than ppl who buy it seem to get done.

I posted the same thing on another thread.
Two different couples who work with DH both like Disney and both have said…it’s too expensive and they are not planning trips. These are two couples where both are engineers and one couple has a “free” child since he’s under 3 and the other couple has a daughter but she’s of the payroll. They priced it with a resort stay, etc and said, “nope.” We hope they still come south so we can do other stuff in Florida.

I'm glad we've been over the ride phase for a while now so G+ isn't an issue for us.

Two words. Easter week.
That's why Disney can get away with selling Genie+ for $35. There's a huge audience this week. They all have spring break or Easter break, and they all want to do the rides. Many are newbies who don't know a thing about Disney and think they have to buy it in order to go on a ride. And just like every good business, Disney is poised capitalize on their naivete.
I've never bought it. Some of my family has. I do have the DAS which gives me some advantage in getting on the biggest rides. Mind you I'm still waiting however long the standby is, but I get to do other things while I'm waiting.
I think I average around six or seven rides per day. That's enough for me. I've been to Disney so many times that I'm just visiting old favorites. And if I don't get to do a particular attraction on this trip, I know I'll be back to do it again. I appreciate being in the parks themselves. I like the landscaping, the music, all the shows. I absolutely adore the fireworks. I will go out of my way just to enjoy a firework show.
What I find funny is when we all had three free fast passes per day people were talking about paying for more with Glee. Well now you're paying for it. You got to be careful what you ask for.
I stick to asking for things like a fantastic fireworks show, fun parades, happy cast members, and a little bit of magic everyday that makes me feel special and happy.
Okay I also will ask for DVC members to be able to purchase annual passes. Please Disney! Let my family be able to come more often. I'm tired of them shunning Disney in favor of Universal or SeaWorld because tickets are more affordable. You let them buy annual passes, and I promise they'll be there spending more money on food and souvenirs and tours.

G+ has never tempted me much. We go too often to spend money on specific rides.

I still like the rides and dislike stand-by waits, so I'm a G+ sucker.

She is so excited she’s vibrating. She will be purchasing an AP the day they start selling them again. Big spender at WDW. I know that the DVC discount will help with that but the AP will ensure there will be multiple trips.

I think the regular price is crazy. I have noticed the seasonal increases. Money grab.

Shameful! Yet, so many will be compelled to pay that price to ride Tron. This might be their only trip to WDW or there next trip won't be for a few years. The here and now urge is hard to fight.

Tron isn’t part of Genie+ although I suspect some won’t realise that. And others still think they have to buy G+ to be able to buy an ILL.

When Disney switched from the paper Fastpasses to Fastpass+, I wasn’t happy. I actually enjoyed being the Fastpass “runner”. But I’d be very happy to go back to Fastpass+! We’re starting to like the dark side more and more, but that’s not cheap either. We have 1 day planned there during our next trip, 1 day for 4 with their unlimited express pass is $1574 after tax! Their multi day packages are a good deal, unfortunately we didn’t have the time to do it this trip.
