So if I purchase new AP's, rather than renew, it will change our activation date to October so we'll get two Fall trips as well as the Spring trip. Huh, didn't think of that. This brings up an interesting question. If you have an active AP, not within your renewal window, can you purchase a new AP and then hold on it it until after your original expires - allowing those months in between, so you get the extra trips. Since you have to link the newly purchased AP to a person, will it allow the same person to have two at the same time - one active AP and the other as a voucher? Also, is there a discount for renewals or is it the same price as a new AP?

The renewal was about 100 cheaper for the Sorcerer's pass. I don't know how different the cost was for the Incredipass.

Yes, the new AP will have an expiration date based on first use. Might want to run numbers and see if it's worth the difference in cost. If you plan to not renew after the year it might be worth it.

Just a note- I tried to bridge an older ticket (4 day hopper from 2015) and Ticketing wouldn’t allow it because it had increased in value. I was really disappointed.

Did anyone use gift cards to buy their APs? I'd seen somewhere that you can only use one gift card when buying APs online. Given that gift cards can only hold $1,000 each that would preclude me from being able to buy an AP (the Incredipass) online. Does anyone have experience that would contradict this? Do I have to call next week in order to buy an AP? I actually need 5 of them so using gift cards from Target would save me quite a bit of money. I think perhaps you have to call to use more than one gift card.

I haven’t read the last 50 odd posts but the earlier ones I did read, folks were none too happy about things….. My precious just spend a little over 45 minutes total, with no wait to speak to a real person, to buy our APs. We each had 3 separate tickets, 6 total, to exchange for our new passes. We’re getting a gift card for $56 to reimburse us for the extra. Wow! She used more than one ticket per AP? Just ordinary tickets? That’s great! I’m happy to be wrong though. 😊

If I purchase an AP and don't activate it until March, will I still qualify to get any AP discounts on DVC villas for cash prior to March? I saw that I can make park reservations with just a voucher but I didn't see (or missed) anything about qualifying for room, food & merchandise discounts before the AP is activated. TIA.

One way to check for the resort discount is to go into the Walt Disney World site and see if any deals come up for summer/early fall. If they are there, then I'd assume you can book. I am also assuming you do not mean cash reservations through DVC? You might have to figure out when they are though. Mine come up when I go look a resort rooms. I am pretty sure I did this before with resort reservations, but it's been so long that I'm not so sure.

I just bought my AP yesterday, and on MDE it is giving me an AP Holder special price on rooms. So I think the answer is yes, but I didn't complete the booking.

Thanks for the quick response. Yes, I was not asking about the DVC discount on cash rooms. I don't yet have an AP and when I try to check for an AP discount for rooms on the WDW site, it takes me to a page to purchase an AP. If I did purchase but didn't activate, I wonder if I'd then be able to get the AP discount on the room.

I actually just booked Pop Century for a "discount" Disney trip (like that exists) in late July. I was going to stay off property, but they were offering 35% off for AP Holders. So I pulled the trigger.

The CM took sweeties 3 passes and applied them to her AP. She still owed some money to make the purchase. Then the CM went to apply my passes. In using all 3 of my passes, I came back with a credit. The CM then took part of my credit and applied that to sweeties pass. We still had a credit of over $65. Saturday night we received the email with our gift card credit.
