Generally, I agree. Although our last two flights - midweek to/from Vegas we both got B20s range even doing this. Still worked fine, but surprising. Cheers. We tend to get Early Bird. I often am willing to pay something for convenience, and that's how I look at it - I then don't even have to worry about when 24 hours ahead of time will be and whether I'll even be available to do the check in. It is just taken care of. Different strokes. Easy for us to do T-24. Just not somewhere we want to spend money as we could consider something we can do so simply a waste.
Cheers.

Yep - I am like that on a lot of things. i.e., I never let a hotel bellman take my luggage to the room - I can do that myself, thank you! Nor do I check luggage with sky caps outside the airport - the airline counter inside is just fine. Both of those things have an expectation of tips, and I don't intend to pay them; don't do meal delivery because of fess, etc. And any number of similar situations But because I never know ahead of time if I might have a "can't miss" meeting, appointment, or other engagement at T-24, I prefer to just make sure I don't have to worry about. Like you said - different strokes!

i.e., I never let a hotel bellman take my luggage to the room - I can do that myself, thank you! I'm cheap, grew up that way. But I learned a few years back that when arriving at OKW on the Magical Express, a couple of five dollar bills for the nice guy to lift my four giant suitcases and all my delivered groceries into his golf cart and then drive us to the front door of our room and then he moves all those suitcases and cases of pop and water and beer and snacks into my room for me...it feels way more vacation-y. Now, though, there's no DME so I have my own car and therefore no more nice guy with the golf cart. Oh well.
