Early sales data is showing very lackluster data.
Gee, who would have thunk that?
Whomever green lighted the cabins being made into DVC should be fired. This resort is a huge step backwards of everything DVC Resorts have stood for since the beginning.

The whole project just seems a bit weird.

Anyone think Reflections will be built anytime in the near future - like before the end of the decade?
That always made more sense to me as a DVC or partially DVC property than the cabins at FW.

We went from the Show stopper that Reflections was going to be, to the Cabins with not much else going for it.
Reflections will probably be built at some point in the future, or at least some sort of rendition of it. When? I dunno. DVC has inventory to sell for the next 4-5 years at WDW. (maybe longer for the Cabins).

I think building Reflections would provide all the amenities expected from a DVC resort to the Cabins. Either making it one resort or having two sister resorts to keep it simpler from a legal standpoint.

I'm questioning this being built. Pictures this week showed the path between WL and Ft Wilderness being redone this week. If construction were to be soon I doubt they'd rebuild the path? Reflections was awful though. Hope they do better there if they do something

This resort is a huge step backwards of everything DVC Resorts have stood for since the beginning. Shocking. Exactly what I said when I shared an article with friends. We have our official stay at Riviera starting in a little over a day. We had always said as a family, we wanted to stay at every single DVC resort. While we did not all three spend the night together in Saratoga last year (kid was handed over to the band the day my spouse and dad arrived), we at least will have gotten every resort so far that is a DVC resort together as a family now next week. We all 100% agreed that we were stopping with Riviera. Any resort that comes after this it will not be a requirement bec a use of the cabins. I just don't get these cabins. I know many who will say they want to stay there because they are a larger family of want more room but can't afford a real one bedroom, but I just don't why these cabins were made into DVC. They had a huge following, but I think that following was going to dwindle because it is now DVC. Those MFs alone will be a deterrent for many.

I recently stayed in the Cabins for one night , castmember rate. Also rented a golf cart . Just for the experience and to discover the Wilderness activities and the Campfire . It felt authentic and uniquely themed . The new DVC Cabins are someplace. I might stay for one cheap points night unless I get the chance to tour a cabin just to walk thru and realize I don’t need to actually stay there after all. I think the updated log cabin look could have been accomplished without making it look like a rental unit apartment interior. I’really don’t think Disney is worried about the investment . What do they have to lose? It sounds like we will be introduced to a new DVC one way or the other . As soon as they figure it out maybe they will let us know. I liked DVC and want to continue but starting to wonder about the future . But I am not adding on and am thinking about selling. Until I look at the cash rates and think about the actual process of “selling” to strangers, etc. I don’t have any friends or family that are interested ! haha I guess I will continue to try to believe they know what they are doing with the decisions being made for DVC .

If you plan on continue to visit Disney World, DVC ownership is still the cheapest way to stay on property.
Just Thursday, Robin was pricing a trip for a family friend (old next door neighbors). The room only rates for two studios at a value resort was $4600 for the week. Since the family is longtime friends, we offered to book them a 2-bedroom at AKV using our points. We are only charging them $12 pp, instead of our normal $20 pp. They only need 201 points for the AKV stay. This is half the price with a much better room and resort.
Selling DVC contracts right now is easy. Just list with a broker and be realistic on your pricing.

Walked thru the cabin.....Its functional and will have appeal to some.
I have to wonder how tight the spaces actually feel in person?

Thanks for the link . DVC Member site has the Virtual Tour available along with other locations .
Have you entered the Cabins currently available? I think I was surprised how much I liked them ! The only time it seemed cramped was in the bedroom with the bunk bed ladder access. I have been checking out the local companies based in Florida that build these and find better floor plans but I am going to assume the price for Disney was fairly basic model … I think it would be fun to visit the next RV Show in Orlando area but there are bloggers that are fun to check out too ! I really believe Disney should have built a tour location for the new DVC for a true walk-thru with a guide.
Thanks for the “sales” suggestion I visit DVCResaleMarket almost daily and the long list of LISTINGS seems to be a slow process currently for all those trying to sell or get rid of their DVC… I know we have many that have purchased resale in the past .Not convinced it is a quick process beyond listing . Once upon a time a 50 point contract would not have lasted more than a day . One of my contracts is a 55 point at BLT You are right I should probably keep it and my other points . I am not interested in renting .
Will your grandkids be asking to stay at the cabins with your points ? I guarantee they will have fun !

Grandson #1 favorite DVC resort is Grand Floridian, followed by Riveria.
Grandson #2 favorite DVC resort is Riviera, followed by Beach Club.
If they wanted to stay there, I would probably book it for them. But at this time, based on what I know that they do like, the Cabins are not for them.
