Even though it's hotter than hades, I am glad we're going in August. With the DVC discount, the tickets were "only" $99.

I’m a huge fan of MNSSHP and we went last year but since we live here now we’ll sit this year out.
If DD were able to come, I’d go in a heartbeat. She loves the characters. Planning the logistics with her was the best part. She’s only been once.

Holy moly! Did you see how much the tickets are??? Oct 29, Oct 31 & Nov 1 are the most expensive nights at $199 (ages 10+) and $189 (ages 3-9).

Go click on the 6th..... wow! But I'm game if friends are! No ma'am. All good without the party. If there was a $10 discount it wouldn't even cover the tax for that. $202.xx with tax. I swear I remember these much cheaper 20 years ago (yep I sound old) I’m a huge fan of MNSSHP and we went last year but since we live here now we’ll sit this year out. If DD were able to come, I’d go in a heartbeat. She loves the characters. Planning the logistics with her was the best part. She’s only been once. I'd go for the right people. I definitely wouldn't otherwise. Or I'd go way early in the season.

I really don't get the draw. Aside from a special parade, some fast-melting candy, and lighter crowds, what makes this worth paying so much extra for?
We went once and I don't remember it being all that great.

We went once and I don't remember it being all that great. I was with some friends on Sunday who went a longggg time ago and they said that a lot of what they did long ago that was free is now gone. They would go to multiple parties in one stay. They don’t even come down anymore for them now. They talked about fortune tellers, face painting, etc that was all free. I have no idea. I don’t know as the crowds are lighter even. When we didn’t live here we came down for the parties mostly because we had never gone, I love Halloween & fall decorations and it was DH and I except the one year DD came down. I love the parade. Love the grave diggers. Love, love a lot of the parade. We have fun memories mostly I guess. It was also cheaper too! I’ve never done MVMCP and DD did one year and loved it. She did the characters again and loved seeing the parade at night. She stashed cookies away in her Christmas Pluto popcorn bucket too.

Yeah, not thrilled with the cost, but did pony up for it this time. We are starting into a new phase of life where DH and I will be making most trips on our own, and talked about maybe each trip we make we'd cough up the dollars for one special item. Since we're going in October, we're going to do this (haven't done it in YEARS). Other options for future trips are tickets for Cirque, various tours, member fireworks cruises, etc. Even though the price per person is the same, somehow seems way more palatable to buy tickets for 2 people than it did for 4.

We usually do the Christmas party in early November. If it's insanely expensive this year, we will opt out. Guess we will see...

Looked up last year's pricing for Halloween and fortunately/unfortunately not much change on the lower/upper ends, though again there is quite a range from month to month.

DH and I were discussing the pricing when we started going about 20 years ago and we think they were about $40/person? We just love the atmosphere, the parade, and 'smaller' crowds (although I think they let way more people in than they used to). And prior to us having AP's, it was our MK day.

I am pretty sure you are correct. More than once I'd do 2 parties while there.
