I am most definitely in favor… Adult Disney cruises even better. Brian, somehow I knew you’d respond!! Indeed. It’s a must!

We sailed on the Wish in August and were not happy. Now, keep in mind, we have sailed numerous times on the classic ships so our perspective was coming from having sailed on the Dream, Fantasy, and Magic. The ship is beautiful and the we couldn't even tell we were moving half the time so the newer technology in the engine is definitely a plus. Our main issue was the layout of everything. The adult area is very small, as is Cove Cafe. There are several decks that come to dead ends. There is no walking 'track' as on the other ships, unless you want to go up and down several sets of stairs. The bars are scattered throughout. Some people like this, I am not one of them, lol. I liked having an adult district where everything we tucked away together. You could go from one to the other easily. On the Wish they are mostly Midship but on different decks. They also took out many of the portholes where you could see out to the ocean. Part of this is because the restaurant Arandell, takes up one deck from Midship to Aft and the windows are all covered. They also covered the windows by Guest Services in the Atrium. And the elevators.....well, there are only 2 banks instead of 3. I understand there are technically more elevators than on the other ships but when people are dispersing from a show or dinner, 2 banks is tough. I want to give the Wish another try but DH was so put off by it that he's a no-go. So we'll see if we go on it again. I think that if it's your first DCL cruise, you'll love it because you have no expectations. We were hoping for a 'new and improved' version of the others but were disappointed. Oh gosh, this is what we were worried about. We LOVE the Fantasy, so naturally we had a Wish booked, but after the husband watched way too many travel vlogs and tallied the complaints, he wasn't comfortable (he is VERY much a creature of habit so all these changes made him oh so uncomfortable!) so he cancelled and booked us on Virgin Voyages. Holy cow, was it a fantastic cruise. We decided we will skip the new ship, hope the next one makes necessary changes, and just continue on with Fantasy in the meantime.

... so he cancelled and booked us on Virgin Voyages. This sounds very different from the Adult cruises I was thinking of...just sayin'
Cheers.

I didn't really post a lot with continuing to sail on the Wish and why. We had never been on a cruise so we thought we'd start with a short one so we did the 3 nights on the Wish. The next one will be the M-F on the Wish in May. I also have an enormous list of food I cannot eat. Neither of us knew if we would have problems with being sea sick either. I'm not sure that I can even make it 5 days on a ship. If we do okay this May, we are thinking of booking a longer cruise on another ship. It seems that the other ships have much longer itineraries now too. We shall see what the future holds for us.
I'm also a huge Cinderella fan too so there is that which drew me to the Wish.
My parents came with us too. My mom has been on many cruises. She did not have any issues while on the Wish with being sea sick. She even has troubles when she flies.
We also will only sail out of Port Canaveral. DH hates to travel so that's a consideration. We are 2 hours from PC now.
Since we've never been on another ship, we have nothing to compare it to. I will say I wasn't a fan of the Little Mermaid show, but it had everything to do with the customs. I also thought that Ursula out shined Ariel. Sebastian stole the show though.

No need to have to explain your enjoyment, ha, glad it was a great time for you guys. As I've stated previously people are accustomed to their experiences on prior Disney cruises and many things about the Wish are purposely done differently to provide variety. On this one especially last thing I would ever do would let others dissuade me from trying something I want to experience myself.

There is no walking 'track' as on the other ships, You made many excellent points -- thank you for writing these up! The item I quoted is a killer for me. Ugh! What were they thinking?

Watched umpteen YouTubes about the Wish. Just made the decision to sail NCL to Alaska ( for just about the same price as the Wish) and cancelled our Wish cruise. Here too is hoping they make some changes on the new Treasure ship.

It’s all new and shiny too.

We were just on the Wish for a merrytime cruise. We have sailed on all the other ships & I had read a lot of bad reviews about the Wish so I knew what to expect going in. I think every ship has their good & bad. Yes, the elevators were bad - smaller compared to other ships & the whole sensor thing in the elevators is HORRIBLE - if you are even close to the buttons, you end up stopping at every deck. But I heard this is being corrected soon. Overall I enjoyed the Wish but I may be skewed in my observations because we haven't been on a cruise in almost 4 years when we typically went at least once a year so I was beyond ready to cruise again.
I am prone to sea sickness too and was really hoping the new technology in the stabilizers would be great but nope! During our cruise the ship still swayed a lot with the Captain reporting just 5 ft waves so needless to say, I remained medicated throughout the cruise.
I thought the lounges were absolutely beautiful and many are close together. Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge was really fun & never experienced a wait time to get in & be served.
The spa is much bigger and better on the Wish.
I will give the Wish a HUGE plug on food especially food centers around the pool area were delicious! The BBQ was out of this world and also LOVED the taco bar!!! HUGE improvement from the other ships. Our servers in the dining room were the best we have ever had on a Disney ship.
I would sail again on the Wish. The Wish is the highest priced ship right now because of it being new. The other Disney ships are fantastic too in their own way so I say go on any of them that fit your time frame & budget.
I will say after visiting Disney World & being treated so badly - was so refreshing to be on a cruise where customer service was fantastic!!!! Nice to be appreciated as a customer again.

I did the Wish recently as a first cruise, but I understand where people are coming from if adult only cruisers. I personally loved the ship but there are small drawbacks in terms of pool setup and a missing central elevator. You get used to things pretty quickly, though the cruises are all on the short side. Happy to answer any questions you have.

Adult cruises?!?!? Interesting... Oh wait, never mind. Maybe the wrong forum for those adult cruises... Cheers. Wait! You mean it's not an adult cruise?!?!? Oh, right...those must be booked on the Fantasy....

We have only been on the Wish. We loved it. We are sailing again in May on the Wish. We have nothing to compare it to of course. We are not lounge people. DH loves food and he loved the food options on the Wish. We aren't lounge people either. I'm delighted to hear you loved it! What were your favorite restaurants and food choice? We are really getting excited!

I'm nervous about the motion sickness on our cruise, but I'm going with an open mind and hoping for the best! Can't wait!
