We paid for a VIP tour last fall and timed it so we could utilize the VIP area for the MK Fireworks at the end of our tour. It was my favorite part of the VIP Tour because I absolutely love the Fireworks and Light Show at MK, and it was great to be in that reserved area where it wasn't crowded. And the guide went to Casey's to get food and drinks for everyone. I know there are Dessert Parties that you can buy tickets for that are pretty expensive IMO (I was crazy enough to shell out the dollars for a VIP Tour so who am I to judge I guess), but I have never done it. I wondered what the experience is like for those that have done it, and I also wonder if there is any other way to reserve a space to watch the Fireworks than what I have mentioned. I don't mind the crowds that much, but I feel like my two youngest always end up having trouble seeing as people inevitably squeeze in at the last minute in front of us after we stake out our spot an hour in advance. It can be frustrating sometimes, and I really really appreciated having an unobstructed view. Any info is appreciated!

A fireworks cruise is always a wonderful option. Depending on how many of you there are, might not be too much more than paying for a dessert party for all of you.

We did a fireworks cruise quite a few years ago and it was great, they play the accompanying music on the boat. A couple of weeks ago we sat at the tables outside of The Plaza and had a really good view. It's best to sit at a table as close to the castle as possible. The further back you sit the more the umbrellas impede your view so it's best to get there early.

VIP area is the best, then the Dessert Party area, then the Boat Rentals.....this is for the paid viewing. These are the only options available. Everything else is paid fireworks viewing.
The new Poly Tower will offer really good firework views, but that is not the same experience....nor is it free.

We've done the dessert party and plan to do it again on our next trip. Yes, it is expensive, but there are just 2 of us now and we've grown tired of trying to stake out spots way ahead of time and then having people come along at the last minute and get in front of us, try to force us out of our spots, etc. Now we are in the mode of just forking over some cash to get a little spot we don't have to protect.

There are options for that other than what you mentioned? I agree about Poly. I enjoy the view from the main pool right now. The new area and the tower should also be nice.

Pro-tip: the wife and I grabbed the TTC Ferry at MK just as the fireworks were starting -- got our own free fireworks cruise that night!
(though I was disappointed they didn't pipe in the music lol)

OK. I did a little more research on the dessert parties, and we will probably try it sometime. Can anyone who has done it tell me how crowded the fireworks viewing area gets?

Somewhat crowded. You should pick the second dessert party (after fireworks) if possible so that you can just go directly to the viewing area and sit. Then after the fireworks are done, go to the dessert party while others join the herds of people trying to get out

Same. It's not worth the fight. And if I indulge in a dessert or two, so much the better! Vacation calories don't count...

Haven't done one since 2021? But we've done a few, and never had an issue being too crowded. A cast member walks you to and from the viewing area from the dessert party check-in podium, and it goes pretty smoothly. I initially worried when they added the after party, but the viewing area still seems "comfortably fully." No sardine/mosh pit feel to it. We will do it again.

I am not sure they have them anymore, but they used to have 3 or 4 benches located to the left of the castle where my wife and I used to sit during the fireworks. They were a great place for old folks like us to sit comfortably.

A friend at MK this week said the dessert party area was PACKED!
Thought I’d report back.
