Huh... I guess I am the odd one out. I live on the west coast, and have been burning through my worldmark points for how many times I go to DL and stay at the WM Anaheim. I felt like the price, while high, was about par with most everything else. I'm totally used to the TOT in Anaheim being a massive expense, so that's not new. plus, I honestly actually like the VDH! The style isnt an amazing theme per se, but then that's pretty fitting with the DLH anyways. And I enjoy the complex as a pleasant "disney bubble" stay. So yeah, yesterday I got things started for my 200pt contract at VDH. I'm excited! Congrats! I liked DL (only been once) but prefer the 4 parks in DW. So not purchasing.

No plans to add on. We have a contract at VGC that we use every 2 years to go to DL. I wasn’t interested when they announced it because I already have that VGC contract. It’s too far and too expensive for us to travel to CA regularly. I’ve been considering selling some points, but then we take family to Disney and just cover their rooms with our points. To be fair, I have no intention of adding on any points anywhere, not just at VDH. I think this will sell to a lot of West Coast families.

I agree on being sold mostly to those in the West coast. Yhey will most likely get more out of it.

As long as Disneyland has the Park Reservation system, there will be some added benefit to staying “on property.” And with the least expensive options tending to be in excess of $400/night, it may be that DVC is still a good “value”. My brother called me in a panic yesterday as he was trying add my Dad’s ticket to his app and make theme park reservations for Dad, only to find that the first day of our trip was “sold out” at both parks. Once he accessed the park reservations available only to hotel guests, he was an able to book.

Still worth a trip one day but not as often as Disney World!

I also enjoy Disney with what I have - As a retiree I try to go several times a year - Thank god for DVC! We're recently retired as well (6 months for mrs. brp. just over a month for me) and our next DVC trip is in a few weeks...a Tuesday through Saturday.
Cheers.

We received the sales material in the mail. DL DVC isn't appealing to us. Does kind look like BLT in that the theme is very hotel-ish.

Agree most people who buy will be west coast peeps, especially with the resale restrictions. It’s a no go for us - too far.

And even though we're west coast folks, we just like WDW so much better that DL has never been a consideration. We're OK taking the long flight, especially since AS has a non-stop SFO-MCO. 15 days until we get there
Cheers.
