What do you think it meant by select merchandise shops? I assume anywhere that already offered 20% off will be 30% off?

I hate I am going to miss this opportunity. I saw a t-shirt recently that I need to have made, it said: Guaranteed to go into each Disney gift shop at least twice!!! That suits me to a tee.

Great if you will be there. Right! We are lucky that we have a trip planned...7 months in advance. How many people will plan a trip just 1 month away because of this? And how many people who just bought an AP will decide to go in June for this? Will this work for them or is it just a thing that the lucky people -- like us -- will get to take advantage of? A little of both. It may encourage someone to go down there. We take spontaneous trips. Mostly it will benefit those who already had plans, and there's nothing wrong with a little luck. I'll take it. I think we catch a lot of them, or at least enough of them. During Covid, we were getting 30% off deals and BOGO on 2020 merch. Remember Disney lost 4 months of guests in 2020, and over a year of guests at Disneyland so they had 2020 merch out the wazoo. It's all supply and demand. Demand is low now. Chapek bet the post-Covid demand wave would last longer than it did, and priced accordingly. But now that everyone got their trips in, we're back to normal Disney. We even saw Ads on TV the other day! We hadn't seen Disney ads for several years there. They're looking for ways to get ppl to visit and $800 deluxe hotel rooms need something to get ppl to bite.

Do you have good luck getting DVC rooms on short notice?

Of course not. When we do last minute we'll do hotel side, with whatever discount is out there.
We went last minute for May the 4th since we wanted to do the Screen and Scream promo. I found the Beach Club of all places, and it had the 30% AP deal!
