Just booked a relatively last minute trip at the end of Feb. Since never having seen Harmonious we may or may not decide to take in a viewing. Never heard anything particularly good about it to bother.

Coincidentally, I have the exact same problem with Fantasmic. Something like 70% of the show is just showing us a movie on a water-projection screen. The difference with Fantasmic, for me, is that they are at least properly staged for that type of a show. All of the projections at being used at other parks, with 75% of the viewing area is unable to get a good view of the projections, really hinders things for me. We used to LOVE watching the fireworks at Magic Kingdom when our kids were little. It was a lot easier to get a spot to view it, however, when you were looking ABOVE the castle instead of AT it. I think some of the newer crowd problems and altercations that take place on Main St. can be directly attributed to the fact that the sightline has been dramatically lowered, making it much more difficult for a large crowd to see the show. Ignoring the eyesore that was the barges, Harmonious had similar limitations with decent viewing angles. Projections are much cheaper in the long run, and they are probably less weather dependent, but the guest experience is notable lessened.

Yes, Wishes had some, but not like HEA. Don't get me wrong, I love HEA and I love the music, but it is very projection dependent. I am hoping that eventually I can always picture it in my mind when I hear the music. I am not a huge fan of the new Halloween and Christmas fireworks for this reason with the projections.

IMHO the projections make the fireworks viewing miserable. In the past all you had to do is look up, now people are crammed into ever increasing crowds trying to get the best advantage to the projection view. Last time we were there an individual fainted and it took an act of God to clear a path. Vowed never again.

Iβm sort of shocked. I wonder how much those barges costed Disney, but glad to see them go! $150 million, give or take. They are also hugely expensive to operate too.

I would be a happy camper if they brought back some version of Illuminations. Although Epcot Forever had some nice parts. I really liked the kites. Very excited we are heading down the end of April! I would be ECSTATIC if they brought back IllumiNations. Didn't care for Epcot Forever as it felt like a slap in the face of what they were taking away. That said, it is better than HarmoniUs. The difference with Fantasmic, for me, is that they are at least properly staged for that type of a show. Agree about the difference between Fantasmic! and HEA. Happily Ever After is VERY castle-centric due to the projections. If you're not in a direct sight line of the front the the castle you lose a lot of the story/show.

Never heard anything particularly good about it to bother. It's worth a viewing at least once. It's definitely not bad at all! I enjoyed it more the second time I saw it.
Try to get a straight-on view of the Stargate though.

I havenβt seen it nor do I plan on it before it goes. I wonβt support what they did to the sight lines around the world showcase.
Word has it that it will be replaced with Epcot Forever as a fill-in while they are developing a new show. I too would love them to bring back illuminations (especially with the holiday add on) but that doesnβt sound like what they are up to.
