Thanks to everyone that stuck with me this long on a not so very "exciting" trip, but it was exciting to me. When I booked the trip, I did not realize that I would be there for part of Food and Wine, so I am glad I got to enjoy some things there. I will get to revisit my favorites when I go back in early November. Alright, off to unpack some more and get laundry started. Thanks again for sticking around, it gave me the motivation to finish this report and not quit when I was about 2/3 of the way through. Oh my goodness, in the context of a crazy summer for me, your trip was just the level of "excitement" I needed. It was incredibly wonderful to sit down at the end of my day and catch up on your adventures! Glad you made it home safely and without issue despite the timing confusion. Thanks again for sharing!

Talk about stars aligning for you to make your flight.....uber, bell service, traffic, SWA bag check, and TSA. If any one of those things had been off, you would have missed your flight.

Just an FYI for those that will be going to Food and Wine, I bought the map to do the Scavenger hunt--really cute map this year, and when I bought it, the CM offered for me to collect my prize right then and there before even completing it. I had heard they would award the prize even if you did not have it all completed correctly, but I had not heard that they would give it to you at the beginning. The prize is an insulated lunch tote--not a fantastic one, but it is cute and I chose the Encanto design. I do this to make sure that I get the cute prize if I like it. Plus I don’t have to figure out where to redeem it later if I’m tired! Glad you made your flight!! Crazy! A couple times with SWA out of MCO we have had to take our bags to a different counter after we stood in line that’s across the main entrance doors. I don’t know how else to describe it. It’s happened twice and I’m not sure why. The Nashville airport is very nice. We flew thru there from Midway to Jacksonville when my parents rented a condo in Fernandina Beach. Jacksonville has a nice airport as well.

I greatly prefer the excitement of your trip to the "excitement" of your barely making your flight (glad you made it, though!)
Definitely my kind of vacation. Or my kind of typical weekend now that I live here (without the hotel stays the majority of the time).
Thanks again for sharing.

Don't think I am not totally aware of that. I knew when I was sitting in Contempo Cafe and realized I had misread the time that my chances of making that flight were slim to none. The stars were totally aligned in my favor. I was tired when I got home from having to change planes and everything, I can only imagine what the situation would have been if I had missed that first flight.

Have to wonder about that. Kind of why I do but don’t wanna take the Keys to the Kingdom tour. My husband would love it. Me, I know some of the magic will be lost, what little is left.

Definitely a worthy question, thanks, It’s certainly a different feel, but not a lesser one if that makes sense. Primarily because the central focus of my trips has almost always been dining, drinking, wandering about, and people watching, which of course can always be as varied as one wishes it to be, I always enjoy the occasional attraction or show, but I’m not waiting for it unless I truly want to. In fact I can just about guarantee my attraction count over one year now is less than most do over a weekend getaway. That said, when I do want it to feel more special (or more accurately not have to worry about consumption of an additional alcoholic beverage), i still do book the occasional nIght or two as an escape. Precisely why I have kept all of my DVC points. Letting someone else do the driving makes these trips feel very similar to my vacations when I lived in New Jersey. One of the few exceptions is when I do split stays I of course drive between resorts. Have saved hundreds in bellman tips over the last few years, haha. Brian, I wonder if living there makes going to the parks any less exciting or interesting for you.

I’ve had similar thoughts about the tours, But the reality is I know most of the “secrets” already. So I tend to think, or hope, that it may indeed enhance the magic.

Since we have similar experiences and knowledge, doing the tours takes nothing away and only enhances what you already know about WDW.
One tour I highly recommend, when you go back to DL, is The Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour. For me, the Best tour we have taken with Disney.

Had a feeling you'd say that. Thanks! Yep, definitely due for a return to Disneyland, have to decide when. I've considered it before so will likely add on that tour. One tour I did do previously and will gladly do again is the Christmas tour in Disneyland. At least at the time it gave a background of the decorations and festivities and such, access to both Haunted Mansion Holiday and the Small World with the Christmas overlay, plus front row seats for the parade. Not a bad deal at all.

Really enjoyed your TR...and know what you mean about comments from our "colleagues" providing motivation to keep going! The TR reads like it was a fantastic two weeks for you, and that makes me smile....happy homecoming....
