I like to review my prior TReports to learn from my mistakes. But since we migrated to the new MO I can not do that. . Now I save these offline. -Flew Frontier from northeast. The key was we did a personal item only each. Each had a backpack that fit in the test check at the gate. It worked out. It can be done. -We were on the 4 for 99$ tickets. What a great option for us. In and out trip. -Rented a car on Chase points = free. I will always have a car in the world. I hate the buses. And like the freedom to hit up target at a bounce. -Stayed at SSR. Room was ready at 11:00am. Still very happy with SSR. Offers great access to Dis Springs which we use often. Walk and drive is easy. -Buses to MK. The only park we bus to is MK. It was a nightmare. Getting there we needed to skip a bus cause it was full. and people that last show up at bus stop always work it to get on first. And I am not one to make a scene. We waited for next and almost did not get on that one. This is getting out of hand. We were at an after hrs for deluxe hotels. 12:30am.... the MK bus terminal was a sea of friends. Lines were outside most of the railings. You can imagine the number of buses needed. We were on the 3rd with 40 min on waiting. Again, another horrible bus experience. We drove to the other parks and had great experiences. I know it is a free option that you do not need to use. But it was not always like this. Been going for years. -Had early entry on 2 days. Worked great. It is a valuable option. Walked past the entry line and then walked right on Rise and SpaceM. -Rise: Is showing its wear. Last Kilo room was just a pass through as room was already in tear down. Canons on ATAT did not lower to fire. Canons still not working shooting out to space. I feel each time I go it will just get worse. It needs down time to fix. -Eating. I continue to eat too much on vacation. All these ressies planned in advance and you feel you need to keep cause you will be hungry then. I am going to rework the family planning to resolve this. -Wine and Dine was good. Everyone got want they wanted. -Lines were not bad. We only did G+ on our MK day. We did all by 3pm. Then started repeats. Remember we were there til 12am. We took a 3 hr break mid day to swim. -Tron: It is fun. Only new attraction for us. Can be longer for sure. It is no Guardians. We did it 2x. Once on virtual Q. and a second virtual Q for our after 6pm booking. Extended hrs. -We would kill for washer and dryers in studios. There is not enough public ones for the studio units. But we always make it work. -We met a Karen at the resort on our final day. Fun Still waiting to hear Disney's response to Epic!!!

Glad to hear a great review of SSR. What section are you in? Trying to decide between the High Rock Springs pool area or Paddock. We will be traveling with little grandbabies 4+ 2) by then.
Nice trip report!

Nice trip report! We were in Congress Park. Last drop-off or pickup on the bus loop. I recommend Springs or Paddock with the little kids. Also, Why are there no hooks in the new referb? No place to hang ponchos or bags. #Bringyourownhooksolution

We love, love our Disney trips with the boys.
Anyway, we are big SSR fans and stay there often. For pool time with your little grandbabies I highly recommend you stay at the Paddock Section.
Here are my reasons why.... 1. Full Service quick service. Many pool bars are not.
2. Dedicated and enclosed water play area just for little ones, like your grandbabies ages. (This is the main reason)
3. Everything is close, so you don't have to wonder far for food, bathroom your room.
4. Has full activities, just like the main pool.

There are hooks and tables, just not in the studios.

Glad you had a good time. I do personally like Paddock as well for SSR. It's in the running for this coming summer for us. I am curious about the Karen though

Thanks for the Paddock recommendations!! Paddock it will be. My son and daughter-in-law have been watching YouTubes on SSR resort and 2 bedroom tours. They really really like the size of the rooms and that pool area.
@op, what a great deal on those plane tickets. I just cant go anymore discount than Southwest. Also seeing that you had bus issues, that is another plus for the Paddock as hopefully there should still be seats available by the time it stops there.

Obvious Grand Stand is the best for getting on/off the buses at SSR. But Paddock is still great. The Carousel stop rarely has people or very few. And the Paddock avoids that whole "walk over" crowd from the Disney Spring area hotels. The Springs section is the absolute worse for buses, especially if you have strollers or scooters. If I stay at the Springs, I will walk over to the Paddock to catch the bus.
Once the morning hours have passed, say 7am-11am, it doesn't matter as much with the buses.

Honestly I do love building 4xxx in Springs. Easy walk to Paddock bus and if you miss it, you can hop on Springs as long as there is room. I do like Paddock by Carousel bus stop though. Probably my favorite location. So buildings that start with 4 seem to be my top choice. My worry is that some day I will be stuck somewhere like Carousel or the far buildings.

I will let her go first cause my defense is outstanding. She was heated. Even her husband seemed surprised by the whole thing.

Even Carousel ain't so bad. In many cases it's a block or two further than Paddock. All very walkable... when it's not 90+.

Lol I thought that until I got a room where the head of the king bed was up against the elevator shaft. HA room facing the stupid clown pool too so it was bright and noisy. I'm a wee bit pickier now after hardly sleeping that trip. Thank goodness it was only a few nights but made the drive to Tampa not as fun for me as I was tired and I4 sucks.
