Those of you who remember me joining MouseOwners in 2008 know it was so I could have my baby girl grow up with the fantasy of Disney as part of her life. Mission Accomplished (she plans to do college program and work there) .
she has had at least 10 birthdays at Disney World including one at DL and Aulani!
this year is sweet 16 (2 weeks ago).
we were up at 430am and off to Dulles. Some plane issues but only arrived 30 mins late. Alamo car rental thru Costco for $75. Stop at Publix. Arrive at BWV AT 1230. No room assigned but front desk has us covered and on to our studio by 130. BWV is still being refurbed so nothing in Village Green available. But nice room overlooking quiet pool.
we attended DVC Meet and Treat. Saw Minnie, Lotso, and Hades. Lotso was a great character.
rest of day at EPCOT. Some snacks. Good but nothing to great. Changed from last year but downgraded.
ciopoino was spicy tomato soup they threw seafood in.
The Old Soarin was AMAZING!!!
I have pics from today but have to figure out how to post them as I use ICloud for storage

Sounds like it was a great 16th Birthday!! Happy Birthday to her!!
I hope she gets in the College Program and enjoys it as much as my daughter did!

First full Day… MK Audrey’s favorite park.
not mine. Not even top 3. But…
I was up early and return the rental car to the car care center. Piece of cake and in the keys they give you a shuttle and took me to Magic Kingdom. Between drop off and arriving at the transportation center under 20 minutes by the time I got across the water on the ferry to the gate it was 9 o’clock.
some pretty big lines already this early in the morning but I didn’t think much about it. Got an a line in route as I got to scanning the family in front of me did not speak any English or Spanish, and none of their tickets have been validated. Rather than remove them and fix the problem outside the lien Disney held up that entire line for over 10 minutes. Bas sign number two.
The girls did not arrive till about 1030 so I went to hall of presidents in a row and then went to the front to do some shopping because Audrey had found a sweatshirt at Epcot the day before that she liked. But they didn’t have it in her size. Unfortunately, the shops at magic kingdom did not have any of them.
Guys, it was crowded. No other way to say it.
I have a theory, but what is happening is that on party days magic kingdom is not as busy during the day, but I definitely don’t have a party and are having fireworks tonight. Everyone is using that day to visit the Magic Kingdom. It was a miserable day from the crown perspective. Probably the most busy I’ve ever seen Magic Kingdom that includes during the holidays. Pe peter pan line was 130 minutes long. Seven dwarves mine train never once drop below two hours. Big thunder mountain stayed at over an hour and a half and usually was over 120 minutes.
if you were not a genie plus person and this was a miserable day. And I refuse to pay that, so do you know which group we were at? We didn’t have a pretty good lunch yet skipper canteen, and I have to say I like this place for Magic Kingdom, he gives you some left of center not normal food not quite the quality of Sanaa but still pretty good.
After lunch, we decided to do several of the shows that we hadn’t done in a while, so went into the tiki room and then the country bear jamboree. Also, it started raining at 4 PM and we rode the train for about 30 minutes. Actually was a good nostalgic ride.
I made it about 730 so we went to look for a spot to do fireworks. Staff work mapping everyone and keeping them out of certain areas. First time this is going to be a very crowded day. They even limited where you could stand on Main Street. I took pictures of the crowd, but let me just say it was more crowded in the last day of Wishes and ward, rather than what we thought was the last day of happily ever after. I would say by far but my memory is not that great. I want to go back and look at pictures even in muggy, made it pretty smoky during the fireworks, but there was a good firework show.
My suggestion to you is, if you’re not dying to see the magic kingdom fireworks is to go to Magic Kingdom on the party days then park hop at 4pm or so to anothe park.

So many little things are missing that just have a relative value here. I remember one of my favorite things used to be walking in the international Gateway going down to Britain and there was a smell (A good smell!). They just let me know I was at Disney! They’re not doing that anymore. No smell at all.

Because of park hopping restrictions, park reservations, early closures because of parties, and on weekends.....the locals - all tied together makes the crowds weird.
