Very simple, but I made this for wife for Christmas: She loves it and still says she can't believe I did that. Just between us, it's just a cut-down 8x10 in a frame. There are a couple puzzles you can buy at the parks, we already had the one from Pixar Pier with the seals and otters on it. I got another from ebay and pulled the puzzle out and inserted the Orange Bird picture from Disney Springs. Every time we are at Springs and walk by that Orange Bird painting, she says Disney missed the boat by not making it into one of those puzzle billboard pictures. The picture, I just had printed on 8x10 at the perfect scale and I laminated it to cardboard and cut it out so that it fit just right. I really really REALLY wanted it to be a puzzle, but I was having trouble making it myself (such that it didn't look like garbage, anyways) and having a custom puzzle made on the web, well, I didn't give myself enough time and it would have just added an extra $20-$30 to the project price. But there are people on Etsy making puzzles for you, as well as places that print photos so that would have been easy, if you found a puzzle size that you could cut out what you needed to fit into this frame without having slivers on the sides or whatever. And ideally the pieces should be about the right size...but it could have been done. Can’t get my pics to work I give up…. finally!! Oh my goodness. Such talent!

All brought to you by a hot glue gun. Thank you for the compliments.

These were the ears that started it all. My friend and I pondered these for a long time. They are decorations from Hobby Lobby. Circles have a very different appeal when you’re looking for ear designs!!

This is a shirt that my daughter made for our mother-daughter trip a few years ago. We tye-dyed several shirts, my dish towels, the kitchen floor… oops! But it was amazing fun! View AttachmentMy kids would love this, how do you make the Mickey?

So the picture doesn't really do it justice, but I made this for Christmas a couple years ago. It's like 49" x 11.25, it's made to go on a beam of the roof I built over our deck. So you can stare at it while drinking margaritas and sometimes the OKW loop is playing on the speakers. Seriously, it looks way more amazing in person.

View AttachmentMy kids would love this, how do you make the Mickey? We outlined a Mickey head with one of my purple quilting pens. When the ink dries, it disappears. We used a large needle, (I'll look for the exact supplies if you want) and basted the outline of Mickey's head with waxed dental floss. Then we pulled it tight and tied it off. After we colored everything with dye. we cut the floss. And voila! Mickey!

You can also do a tight fan fold like this...
Warning... We used disposable plastic table cloths on the counter tops and clear plastic sheeting on the floor beneath. And you need to have a good place for them to air dry, which takes a while. But it was great fun, and we will do it again some time. Maybe for the next family trip.

Just finished this quilt top this weekend. Now to quilt and hem it. It’s for a bestie, so I tried to tone the color down a little. The one I make for myself will be… different…
