Happy Thanksgiving from Tokyo! Actually it’s over here, but still happening for most of you. I was at Tokyo SeaDisney today, had a wonderful day. I have been away for almost a month so I am ready to go home. I hate to leave the polite Japanese and the Toto toilets! I promise at least a short summary trip report soon, as 1000monkeys was very thorough.

Happy thanksgiving all.
I have no idea what the head count for dinner will be as we do a "orphan" Thanksgiving with an open invitation for my daughters co-workers that don't have family in the area. the best guess is between 7 and 15. This year we spatchcocked our turkey then split in half and will do half on the grill with a kiss of smoke and the other half will be the classic roasted in the oven. We also do a trip-tip for those that don't like turkey. Did a lot of the heavy lifting yesterday so today we get to kick back as much as we can.

You REALLY deserve a trip to Disney after that! Today is Day 5 for both of them and they are already getting their sense of taste back. It seems that they had pretty mild symptoms. I think the Paxlovid was a big help, DW says she feels just fine. No Disney trip for us until April. We just got back a few weeks ago from a week in a 2BR at Kidani SV... all 9 of us! |

Thanksgiving was fun... now on to Christmas. Next weekend DH will be twisting my arm about purchasing our trees.

Next weekend DH will be twisting my arm about purchasing our trees. We got a very realistic reusable tree with some lights (that we add to). Easy to get as it lives in the closet

Ours lives in the storage building out back. Every year we say we are buying a new tree, and every year we drag this one back out. But it was the last tree my grandmother bought, and I just can’t bring myself to replace Mamie’s tree. |

We hosted 14 for dinner. It was supposed to be 16, but they were sick. ☹️
Tomorrow is leftover night and decorating the Christmas tree with the kids. Who are all adults but we still call them the kids.

Thanksgiving dinner behind us (a lovely pork chop recipe that can be found in the Chatty thread). Now sitting in the living room reading Kindles and listening to Irish folks music (Loreena McKennitt and the Chieftans).
I wish well to all those hosting family and friends. That has its own appeal as well.
