Well, just a little update...
We made it last night on our plan B flights out of PDX. It turns out that our original itinerary got cancelled thursday evening due to fog out of ykm. Over the years, I have noticed Alaska seems to look for excuses to cancel our flight because flights in and out of psc, just 90mi away and very similar weather keep going.
Anyway, they rebooked my wife for today but my son and I would still be SOL.
Should have just done PDX from the beginning and saved $500 back when I booked.
