I'm too cheap to buy k-cups when I see what they are charging for them at the store. I learned to like coffee back in the factory workin' days, when it was a giant red or blue can for five bucks. Then I drove school bus and the coffee was from the same giant red or blue can. Still like it that way.

Who did I read not that long ago was having Keurig coffee makers? Drip at OKW. I make a pot and stick it in the fridge because nobody drinks it but me! Then I microwave as needed. We think k-cups are not good and honestly wasteful. I wholeheartedly agree about K-cups being wasteful. when we do need to use them, we pull them apart, throw away the top, coffee and filter and recycle the plastic cup. At home (and I try to remember to bring on trips) I have a reusable pod and I put in whatever coffee I want. And the coffee is compost. Cheers.

New refurbs are swapping to the duals. Polynesian was just done prior to that change. My spouse only does drip coffee. We think k-cups are not good and honestly wasteful. Spouse does drink enough in one day for himself to make a pot though. She doesn’t travel with it, but I bought mama one of the little cute coffee makers. I think it makes 4 or 5 cups? (Or mine Mama sized cup…) She likes it because she always has hot coffee and doesn’t have to waste it.

I have this little guy (here at home) and it makes exactly two 12oz cups of coffee, which is the size that our souvenir coffee cups seem to be. It has no frills, but it has a cute lil baby elephant on it so what's not to love.

Those are so cute! I'm not a coffee person myself but how handy for those who want less.

I have a 2-part question related to MagicBands:
1. Does anyone know if there's a way to verify whether the battery in a MagicBand2 is still alive?
We have an 11-person "once in a lifetime" family trip coming up and I purchased the Memory Maker option so want to be sure we capture as many ride/park photos as we can, ideally without having to stop on the way out of a ride and scan or get a code (however it works at attraction exit nowadays). 7 of us have MagicBand2 bands from 2022 and I'd love to know if they're only good for passive RFID, and we should maybe take the plunge and buy MagicBand+ bands...ugh, or if the active RFID still functions.
2. For anyone who's been to the parks recently, can you still find a reasonable selection of MagicBand2 bands in the Disney Springs or park shops or is it pretty much "MagicBand+ or bust" at this point?
For my sister and her family, if we can still find the less expensive MagicBand2 bands, I was planning to browse Disney Springs locations (maybe custom MagicBands at D-Tech) and find them bands when we arrive (we're driving and will be there earlier as they're flying in in the evening). I'll have park access as well so can hit up a shop inside one of the parks, if needed. But, if the pickings are slim, we'll just see about getting them MB+ bands online.

I have many older magic bands that still work.
I could be wrong, but I don't think they have them in the stores any more. We arrive tonight at WDW, I will check around.

I just went last week with old Magic Bands and they worked fine. The ride photos track the Bluetooth on your phone now. That is sort of a problem if you have a larger group and only one person with an MDE account. In our case, it would usually only pick up the car with my phone in it. Sometimes, it would also pick up the car in front and behind. With park photos, they will scan your Magic Band and the photos will quickly link to MDE. I can't answer question #2.

We also bought the filter cups and liners. It's more work but the refillable filter cups and liners are still in the 'cute' stage and I don't feel like I'm wasting coffee. Previously we had the 6-cup maker but took up less room on our counter.

Ah, good to know (maybe I'd heard that before and forgot?). The only people in our party who don't have an MDE account is our son's GF and my sister's DH and girls (BIL will likely log in w/ her account). If I'm reading info correctly, we need to ensure they all have Magic Mobile set up in MDE? My immediate family does but I'll probably have to help my mom, brother and sister get that done.

Or you can just make sure that those without MDE are riding in cars with those who do. Now that I think about it, I have to wonder if Memory Maker only links to one person and you might have to scan MagicBands after each ride. We have annual passes, so the ride photos just show up in my MDE based on where my phone was.

We have annual passes, so the ride photos just show up in my MDE based on where my phone was. According to the Memory Maker info, it will capture photos for all guests in your party (up to 25 people on your Friends and Family list) but I believe the photos will only show under my MDE account since I bought it under my name which means I'll have to download and share the photos with everyone else which is no big deal. If I recall correctly, when we bought APs in 2022 for the four of us going twice that year, I only purchased the PhotoPass Downloads option for myself and automatically got photos for everyone else traveling with me on both trips (second trip included non-AP members).

That's still true. Anyone you are connected with you can see their photos. For the phone thing to work, you will have to enable it in MDE. I find it isn't always great for everything, so I prefer having a band as a back up.

Hi all! Here's one for the stupid question thread: Do waitlists automatically expire and go away as the time passes (with the waitlist unfulfilled), without me needing to do anything? Or, do I need to go in and deactivate it at some point? I think it's yes to the first question and no to the second, but I've only done one waitlist ever before and it was about 8 years ago so I don't remember. Thanks!!
