Happy Anniversary to Us! 45 years today... at 7p. We were such babies. Today our youngest is coming over to present Traveling to Ireland research, handout included. This should be fun. At this point we're a bit terrified of air travel but willing to listen. We're hoping they find a house, which will push off the Ireland trip to 2026 - or longer. Maybe we'll just give them the $ and tell them to have a pint on us. LOL Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary! Have a wonderful day. Ireland sounds fun . Are you renting a car or joining a tour group ? DD wants to rent a car. She did take a guided tour schedule and use it as a base to establish an itinerary. Our problem with the tour groups is they move almost every night and none of us were into that (it sounds exhausting). Plus both of us have the same issue with time and want to keep the trip to a week.

Last year, our hardwood floors got the last coat put on Friday, June 2, 2023, and I had told our cabinet guy he could come Monday, June 12. 49 weeks later, Friday 5/24/2024, he finally finished all his rework and we gave him the last payment! We both hope to never see him again. I have choice words to use to describe him, that's for sure.
So the fridge and stove are scheduled for install July 3 as I recall, which gives me about a month to install the vent and tile the backsplash and install a gas line. Should be fine. Hookups are ready for the fridge so that's good, water is there for the sink but I have to do the pipes and then put the dishwasher in.
Last night I unboxed the kitchen table that my wife ordered from Pottery Barn (I always say, they should be a masterclass for any shipping department) and assembled that and two chairs, and it was very nice to sit and play scrabble while music was playing and drinking beers...at least one of us was drinking beers hee hee.
No new pics of the kitchen because to be honest, it looks identical to pics I posted at the end of December. "Rework"

We rode the bus together from Columbus to Indy and after marching in a parade, having dinner at Hooters, and a kiss by a port-a-john, the rest was history

Sorry, IDK what I'm doing wrong trying to quote, but here's the quote I'm replying to: DD wants to rent a car. She did take a guided tour schedule and use it as a base to establish an itinerary. Our problem with the tour groups is they move almost every night and none of us were into that (it sounds exhausting). Plus both of us have the same issue with time and want to keep the trip to a week. You can see a lot of Ireland in a week! Just traveled there May 2023 with DD3's college field hockey team. We spent 3 nights in Belfast and 4 nights in Dublin, using each city as a base from which to take day trips to various sites. It was a guided tour, but frankly they didn't do much past providing bus transport, so we arranged a lot on our own. You can purchase tickets to many things online in advance which saves time and hassle while there, and really worked excellently. We did this for Trinity College (Book of Kells/Old Library), Guinness Storehouse, booked a formal Tea on Open Table, etc. -- all went like clockwork. Cliffs of Moher was our furthest jaunt, and we were easily able to make it there and back by mid-afternoon. Dublin is very walkable with so many points of interest. Belfast not as much but we were grateful to have the opportunity to visit and learn more about the struggles there. Happy planning!
