Chat away to anyone and everyone!
We’re about to get a new bathroom installed next week and I’m getting nervous lol! I think because it’s actually the first such work we’ve had done. Having decorators in is one thing, this is a whole new ball game. Everything’s coming out, including tiles. Extractor fan being installed, ceiling taken down and re plastered, new lighting, tiling and flooring replaced, new radiator. And a new bathroom suite. Eek! Can’t wait for it to be done though.

Good luck. I haven't lived through a reno yet that has produced additional maintenance needed items. I love when the contractor tells me our house has rotten area. Really makes me wonder about the parts we haven't done.

Good luck with remodels! We did our kitchen in 2019 and glad that fiasco is over - mostly because our fridge died mid redo and had a heck of a time getting our money back (10 month old fridge) to order a new one. 8 weeks with no real fridge sucks. I keep telling myself it is indeed 2024. We're knee-deep in Mean Girls musical right now (costume lady). I also am on 20 years as a DVC owner. Doing a lousy job of not trying to add on right now

Good luck with the reno. We have done a few here over the years. We have always helped each of our three kids with their renos when they purchased their home. Would love to replace our (small) kitchen. It is new but way outdated......80s. (we use the one down our finished basement/yes). We don't even use it but it is on our main floor. I don't want/can't go through a reno again. I have the excuse that I am starting to wonder if this will be our forever home. It is on the small side so perfect started and retirement home. Just not 100% as sure as I was years ago. It will all be worth it in the end though Even if you close your doors to other rooms near your bathroom. Hang plastic over the doors. The dust gets everywhere. Worst part!!

Hi I hope everybody will Cheer for my hometown team Go Kansas City Chiefs !
I plan to watch it from Universal Studios this weekend for Mardi Gras Parade and the fun Super Bowl Party at the food court for Cabana Bay ! Every year they play the Macys Day Parade in No ember and the Super Bowl event on the big screens (4 the size of a drive in movie theatre surrounding the food court ) … guests know how to party ! Hope they plan to continue the tradition !
What are your plans ?
Cute story today at Publix. Mom and her daughter buying inflatable balloon at entrance…just as I also entered. Mom reached for the SF football design Daughter said No and pointed to the other one KCChiefs I said “ Good decision “ and the mom laughed and we both said at the same time … “ Swifties “ Haha and then I admitted I was also from Kansas City, Mo That was a fun what are the odds I would enter at the best time ever !
Go Chiefs!
And is everybody planning to watch Taylor Swift. Version All Eras Concert Event on Disney+ this month ?
YAY Go Taylor ! Too!

Just want to brag that I am at just about 200 miles since drilling a hole in the Volvo transmission and bringing it back when really, it should have been dead. Now I feel like I will make 300,000 for sure - only 3,500 to go! Or something.
Wife likes this car way better than the Ford I was making her drive. The Ford is newer and has way more power and is quieter. She prefers the seats in the old Volvo - they seem roomier and they are heated.
Either way, I can go through the Taco Bell drive-though. Which is something I cannot say about the handicap shuttle bus that I am forced to drive when everything else breaks down - doesn't fit through drive-throughs.

In other news, yesterday I unpacked my coffee maker and my Orange Bird mug from the box it's been living in for about 10 months. Not into the kitchen, though - made a safe space for it in the garage. Kitchen has not been moved into yet. I also put the old fluorescent light from the old kitchen on the ceiling in the garage that is currently the working kitchen. hee hee should have done that a few months ago.
I laugh when wife watches these home renovation shows and people seem to think they are going to have their whole-house remodel done in four weeks. Of course, if you are rich and are on a tv show, they pull all the strings necessary and they don't put up with cabinet guys that go radio-silence for weeks or months at a time.

Every remodel we did the contractor would say 4 weeks and I came to know this really meant 2 to 3 months. The last bit of reno was replacing the back room floor tile to match the kitchen floor (because all those DYI programs go on & on about different flooring being a negative). He bought the tile over 2 years ago and finally did it last summer with his brothers. I'm done. We should really repaint but I just don't feel like it. He wants to replace the toilets because he thinks they're small. No, we're bigger and older. Whatever, they all still work. I'd rather go on vacation. LOL

We are on Oahu so we will be hiking on Sunday while many watch the game, making for lighter crowds. I will be rooting for KC (although I was rooting for the Ravens to beat them) as we live in the Bay Area (like 10 miles from Levi's Stadium) and I always root against home teams when I live somewhere, except New York. And is everybody planning to watch Taylor Swift. Version All Eras Concert Event on Disney+ this month ? We don't have Disney+ and, even if we did, this would be unlikely. Not a fan, although we will probably watch the Tiny Desk Concert since it's short and I don't know any of here music, so this will be a sufficient introduction and Tiny Desk Concerts are great. Cheers.

As for the KC Chiefs, it's that American Football thing....

A little Taylor Swift fact. She is a Lancaster, PA native, has lots of childhood friends here in central PA. Her custom jewelry is also made in Lancaster and has been selling like crazy.
Myself, I am rooting for the 49’rs
