For those that have transportation and like to hit up a grocery store for stocking up your Villa, I saw this article today and thought it might be helpful to some others here:

When we are there, my wife insists we go to the Publix with the water tower in Celebration. We hit a different Publix once and she didn't like it? I don't know why. I dragged her to the Winn-Dixie near Disney Springs one time, and I liked it because it was NOT busy, at least when I went. But she didn't like it so what can a guy do. I love that ABC Liquor in the parking lot, though.
Okay: I may be the only person here who fondly remembers the Goodings grocery store at the Crossroads Shopping Center near the Springs. We used to go to SweetTomatoes all the time, and I remember walking from Springs to Goodings to get groceries. The winding walkway along that street is awesome. Also, that Goodings used to be high-end back in the day, we used to go there in the '80s. ANYWAYS I did a little looking. There used to be a number of Goodings stores, but Publix started to come up and they couldn't fight it. Goodings build a grocery store in Celebration in approx 2012, at the relatively-new Water Tower Shoppes. Well it didn't last, and here's the mind-blowing part: The Goodings was demolished and a new Publix was built in it's spot...which is the Publix at Water Tower shops! So essentially when I am shopping at that Publix, I am basking in the spirit of the old Goodings!
Now I just need something to open up that is basically SweetTomatoes.

Weird, they left out Winn Dixie. I actually like it better than the Publix near DS ALDI recently bought Winn Dixie. I'm not sure if it's every store or just a portion of them, but they are quickly converting the stores - the first step was to close the pharmacy inside the store, and that caused us a headache swapping prescriptions & getting approval for some of them from the insurance companies at the new places. So, they mentioned ALDI - but perhaps left off Winn Dixie anticipating the change?

My understanding was that not all Winn-Dixie's were going to swap over to aldi. I haven't seen anything stating that it was going to swap to Aldi yet.

When we are there, my wife insists we go to the Publix with the water tower in Celebration. We hit a different Publix once and she didn't like it? I don't know why. We used to go to this very same Publix until helenabear mentioned the Winn Dixie on Apopka Vineland in another post. We went and now that's our store of choice. Less crowded than the Publix at the times we go, great selection and easy to get to the resort from there. No downsides for us.
Cheers.
