True. One of the few things I regret about selling our townhouse in Davenport is losing FL resident status for Disney perks.
Ah well - we tried for MM. Next time! I will confess that I got distracted by some work and forgot to click on the page at precisely 11am. A couple of minutes late and I'd missed the window entirely.
$174 for a day? Wow. That's crazy. It wasn't that many years ago DVC ran a special for an AP for $199!!!!
I used to really enjoy SeaWorld. I went in Dec with a friend because we had 14 days of park access with our Discovery Cove day. FWIW, SeaWorld has gone downhill since I last visited prior to pandemic. More coasters, less family rides with the only dark ride closed years ago. In general, the park was full of construction walls. Upkeep was not as good as I recall. Even the animal shows were a letdown, as one stage performer finally gave up and announced to the crowd: "sorry, nothing went right. Sometimes it goes better, but not this show."
We enjoyed a visit to LegoLand after covid. It was much the same - great regional park, loud but fun hotel lobby and generally a really good time. However, pandemic protocols were also much less enforced, so the family was not as comfortable with repeat visits at the time.
Universal is hit-or-miss for me. I love the Harry Potter and Suess lands. Even ET as an opening day ride is still a fun time. But I don't like thrill rides, so a good percentage of the attractions are lost to me. Epic Universe looks to be a game changer when it opens in 2025 and I am really looking forward to visit it as a new gate.
But if snowbird friend is willing to cough up $150-$200 per day, I loved Discovery Cove. What a great experience! I plan to go back there for a day for by birthday this year, just because I enjoyed it so much. Not sure if that would be of interest, but those day passes usually come with admission to SeaWorld as well so it may give an option to check out that park for not that much more than a day pass there.
