Well on our last trip to WDW in January we decided to buy some resale points. Very dangerous to even think about that when you are in Disney. But we did it ..filled out the form and made an offer while we were there (we were having a good time can you tell?!!!!). A very good contract with banked points and did a low ball offer so I thought if it doesn't go through then okay....DH is the one who pushes this stuff. Well they accepted and I thought oh no! So signed the contract and was a cash offer so literally signed it Jan 10th and points were in our account today!!! They said closing would be March etc then points not for 4 weeks etc but I guess that is the cushion they give....so booked a week right after with our new points!!!!

Congrats! Details please….what resort? Is it an add on to a resort you already have points to, or a new resort all together.

Congratulations!! We bought a small BWV resale contract and it’s been fast so far so we shall see. I took the $$ and papers to FedEx yesterday. Way toooo easy which is dangerous  |

Yes, very easy and dangerous!!! It was an add-on for a third resort (GFV & CC- we have some direct pts with GF and CC), same use year - it is OKW because though it ends (I will be in my mid-70s, so not worrying about that now!), the points were cheap, we like OKW and will use pts at 7 mos when able. Though OKW is usually available to some extent, we want to be near HH, and there were times when late booking was not open. We go there for low-key, low-park visits and spending time at the resort and DS. Broker said Disney is really not doing any ROFR right now...

We did all contracts on line and wired the money ...so that made it go quicker too I am sure..!

We just stayed for our first time at OKW in a 3BR villa. It was 7 of us across 3 different families, and let me tell you, it was amazing!!! I don’t own there, but I was able to get it after picking up one night at a time. As my kids said, it wasn’t really a hotel room. It was more like a townhouse! I can’t recommend it enough when traveling with more than immediate family. We stayed towards the back of the property in building 48 and really liked the location because it was so quiet. Also, being the 2nd bus stop to head into the parks was nice in the mornings when the buses tend to fill up as well as when we were 2nd to get dropped off. Congrats on your purchase!

As my kids said, it wasn’t really a hotel room. It was more like a townhouse! We stay in the one-bedroom unit and even then, when people ask about the resort I tell them "it isn't really like a hotel, more like townhomes..." Like you could actually live there. We recently brought my sister and her family as well as my mom; I don't think my sister and her family cared because to them, it was a place to sleep between trips to the parks. But my mom enjoyed the resort. Good choice on the South Point bus stop! |

I’m hoping to have a similar experience! I just agreed to an OKW contract. 310 points at $74.20 per point with over half the 2023 points banked. I was looking for some “cheap” points to go along with our BLT points. Hopefully now I can quit looking for reservations to rent!

Be sure to get good recommendations on a closer. Mine came to a screeching halt … I requested someone else and it was closed by end of business today. Waiting for points now.
