I’ve got a resale contract without benefits and another contract where I get all the DVC benefits. Do I need to be on a stay using my direct points to get in the Epcot lounge? What if I’m staying offsite?
TIA, Brad

Nope, no stay is required for a visit. Just the proof of membership perks.

Confirm what helenabear said. We're local and stop in from time to time when we are not staying at the DVC, as long as you have the "card" on your phone that includes proof of perks you're good to go.

does that apply to TOTW lounge at Bay Lake tower as well? It certainly did in the past. With all the paid events, I'm not sure what the status of that lounge is now, though.
Cheers.

I know it has been this way for a long time, but at least it they dropped the stay at BLT to use like initially (with some exceptions of major holidays that often restrict usage more).

I was thinking about the first part of the original question where there is an onsite stay, but it is using a contract other than the one with the benefits. AFAIK, the stay does not need to be at the blue-card-enabled resort. I also don't recall being checked for a stay, just eligibility. But it's been a while. Cheers.

Ah, I was responding to the idea that TOWL has same requirements for stay as Epcot. Hence the no. As I stated any onsite stay at a Disney owned and operated resort in conjunction with a blue card/DVC-Y status will get you in. It doesn't even have to be DVC. They scan magic bands to enter, or have been since I've been going. With a scan they can see your stay and how many they should be able to allow up.

I rarely go there myself unless I'm at BLT so i just add people to my reservation now and fill the room just in case.

A trick for TOTWL: If one is going just for the view and not going to actually sit in the lounge and have anything, the easy thing to do is take the elevator one floor below and walk up the stairs...unless they've locked them by now We did this once and actually did go to the lounge to get something. Turns out that it was one of those events and we were not supposed to be there. I felt bad and decided I would never do this again to actually go to the lounge. Also, the lounge offerings are quite mediocre and no desire to go again. But I realized that this was just not the kind of thing I wanted to do. However, just to hang out outside and look at the view at a less crowded time, I would have no qualms about doing this. And, yes, I know it's not within the rules. Cheers.

I've found it locked more often than not. I test it on the way out when avoiding the elevator rush at the end. I haven’t tested since 2019 though.

We just stayed at BLT the beginning of February. The check-in podium is not on the first floor anymore. There is a sign telling you to take the elevator directly to the lounge. The check-in podium is at the entrance to the lounge. If you do not have reservation, you can get put on a waiting list to go into the lounge. You can also go to the outside balcony to watch the fireworks. And I was told there was a walk window to order drinks. We did not stay because our friends did not want to wait that long.

So it seems that my trick is no longer necessary as any eligible person can go outside even without a reservation. Also get a drink, it seems.
Cheers.
