The rental companies probably hate it.
We have had a sun pass for many years. You can take it with you if not driving to FL but just remember to change the license plate back to yours when going home!

But also very important - if you rent a car, make sure that the car is closed out of the SunPass account when you return it. Don't delay. I did once and incurred a toll for a rental after I had returned it since I had not yet closed out the car. I sent the return email details and got it reversed, but better not to have to deal with it in the first place.
Cheers.

SunPass actually has an option in their app to add a car as a rental car so it expires at a set time. You don't even have to worry about remembering to remove it. I prefer using SunPass over any of the other ones for that reason.

But that would make it work as well if set at the beginning, and then updated if you return earlier than planned.
Cheers.

We have a SunPass as well - but this trip we used our EZ pass since we drove. Will probably keep the Sun Pass for rental situations.

The Visitor Toll Pass is so awesome and convenient. And yes, Iām sure the car rental companies hate it. As someone who lives in an area without tolls, I have no reason to get EZ, Sun, or any other type of pass.

As someone who lives in an area without tolls, I have no reason to get EZ, Sun, or any other type of pass. We have SunPass just for trips to Florida (WDW and family). We do have some tolls in the Bay Area (that we rarely have to pay), but that's a different pass.
Cheers.

As someone who lives in an area without tolls, I have no reason to get EZ, Sun, or any other type of pass. I have the SunPass uni pass. While we have a few tolls in my area, I almost never drive those roads. The weird thing is my home state charges more if you do not use it regularly then Florida. I could use the uni pass on many toll roads and neighboring states and such. So I have that and have my car registered to it, but I predominantly use it in florida. I gave my E-ZPass to my dad since I didn't use that one as much. Again, he only uses it a few times a year so I'm glad someone can get use out of that one.

Yep, I just have a sunpass that's for florida visits only. I bring it down in my carryon and stick it to the window and off I go. I never even have to add the plate as a rental or anything, though I probably should just in case.
Never have to do the temporary ones at the kiosks.
