How do you book a cabana at Typhoon Lagoon? Is there an option on-line somewhere that I just cannot find? Anyone have experience with booking a cabana? Can you choose which one you get or are they assigned. I have not been in many, many years, so any suggestions are welcome and appreciated.
My family wants to go the day before we get on our cruise in June, and I think the only one I can survive a water park at my age is to have a cabana that comes with service, shade and nice chairs that I don't have to search out myself. I know i can spend my time in the lazy river while the family enjoys the water coasters and slides.

We'll probly do this too. It'll be expensive tho. I think around $400 for the rental... plus I know if I have a comfy shaded spot to sit I'll be much more likely to order more drinks and food! You just call 407-wdw-play up to 60 days out. I don't know how they assign them. ETA: Looks like maybe you can reserve them online now. disneyworld.disney.go.com/recreation/typhoon-lagoon/standard-beachcomber-shacks/

And you have shelter from an afternoon storm. YouTubes I have watched indicate that they are lightening protected. Now, if the rain is coming in sideways, as it does sometimes, then that will not help.
Thanks for the link, I never would have found that. I have about a month before I can book.

Good point about the cover! I've never been in the midday before... this will be our first. We've only done the evening parties and lines were non-existent at them. Hoping the day experience is as good.

We have not rented a cabana at Typhoon Lagoon, but at least once a year, we book one at a resort. Its a guilty pleasure and we enjoy having the space, service and shade....especially when we have the grands with us. We plan on booking one for our Memorial Day trip with the kids.
Typhoon Lagoon is great at opening, slammed busy from 11:30-3:30 (ish) then it gets better and better each hour afterwards.

We have 10 water park entitlements from a 2008 Non-Expiring Hopper. We've never been. The whole idea around getting a locker always seemed not worth the hassle.
What is this like in reality? Since we have these entitlements, maybe we should give it a try. Although the early afternoon is when we'd be most likely to go, and that seems a non-deal time.
Still, something to consider if the logistics are not problematic.
Cheers.

Yikes! I just priced a cabana for a day for my next trip. Thanks for posting the link! That made it super easy to check. The day I was looking at came to $400 after tax. Ahh - nope. That might be worth it if I was going with group and a few of us were splitting the cost, but for less than just the cabana I could get a day pass to Discovery Cove including food + drinks with a small cabana plus the 14 days of park access to SeaWorld, Aquatica and Busch Gardens. That's an easy decision.
OTOH, maybe a day at the water park would be nice. Visiting a Disney water park would be a first. So maybe $60ish for a day ticket would be fun on a chill trip.

Pretty much every day the price $400 for the Cabana rental.
But....Wow, Discovery Cove sounds like a great deal in comparison. I have nothing but great things about Discovery Cove.

Not to hijack the thread, but I had so much fun at Discovery Cove! The lazy river by itself is about a 20 minute journey. To be fair, doing the add on's (photos, dolphin encounter, etc) would make Discover Cove pricey. But I had a fantastic day there just on the basic ticket and adding a ~$100 mini cabana. Here's a pic from our December trip. I thought these were more comfortable than the regular cabana, but that might be because enjoyed the comfy padded lounge for a nap after running around DC all morning.
