Disney Cruise Line is always late to the game, when compared to other cruise lines. For example, for 2025, I already have two cruises booked on NCL for February and Labor Day, that was made in 2023.

Might want to edit the title to say 2025. ☺️

No booking advantage for DVC? Didn’t they used to get at least a day before general booking?

No booking advantage for DVC? Didn’t they used to get at least a day before general booking? I thought DVC was on the same level as Silver when it came to booking. It’s been a while, so not sure when it changed. We are gold now. But Disney’s pricing is unreal. For a 10 day southern Caribbean sailing, I am booked on NCL with the same itinerary, includes 2 specialty dining, alcoholic beverages ( up to 15/day), all my crew gratuities included ( TA promo) for $3000 less. Oh and I am in a mini-suite instead of a regular balcony. It will be a long time before I get back on a Disney ship with this kind of pricing.

Nothing new as far as itineraries go. Fantasy is making it's way to Europe. We thought maybe we'd try the Treasure, but I agree, not at those prices. Our 7-night Fantasy cruise during Christmas didn't cost that much. So we'll wait.

We sent an equerry to our agent for the Treasure might as well use our place holder.
This year we are doing a Virgin cruise in Europe (live in UK) To save on holiday costs.

I am out of DCL cruise credits and am already booked up for 2025 vacations. We have two DCL cruises this summer and will add cruise credit for use in 2026 hopefully.

We are big fans of NCL and their ships. I do have to add that we have only sailed in a Haven category room and not a regular balcony room. So our experience is probably tainted.
The big difference is obviously that Disney experience and when traveling with kids/grandkids, Disney is still the way to go. But when the kids reach teen years, those RCCL ships are geared for them.

There is not a lot of options and flexibility. For example, DCL has one ship in Alaska. Princess Cruise Line has 7, which is 2 more than Disney's entire fleet (1 after December). Norwegian has 5 ships in Alaska. Same with Europe, every major cruise line has tons more ships than Disney does, which gives them clout and port access.

I can understand DCL being at a disadvantage in terms of port access, but I don’t see how that impacts prices. Do you find DCL is worth twice, or even more, than other cruise lines -even with pre-teens? What exactly is the “Disney difference”?

Pricing wise it seamed like a no brainer (compared to Disney) 7 nights in the Med with $900 onboard spend, return flights from UK to Spain and one night pre cruise hotel for basically what we paid last year for 4 nights on the Wish. Plus includes gratuities and Internet.

A friend of mine booked one and then cancelled when he found he could have 7 nights on the new MSC cruise ship, adding on an unlimited drinks package, for the price of his 3-night DCL one.

We did not no. TBH they did not really appeal to us and the cost was nuts. We are only 40 mins from Southampton so did go and see the Dream. The newer class of ships draw us in. This Virgin cruise in the summer. Is because we could not justify WDW for a 4th time in 2 years. (should have got annual passes)
