Maybe I’m in the minority of those who don’t keep the buttons. As a very frequent visitor to DL, my family had easily tossed a couple of hundred buttons before we had to start actively refusing them a few years ago. We don't keep most trinkets and junk like this, so we just don't get it. The last (maybe only) button I got from Disney was for birthday more than 13 years ago...before I learned to simply decline the junk. Same with the water bottles that we are always offered at hotels as elite perks. No thanks, you have glasses and a tap. We're good and can avoid the plastic waste for bottled tap water.
Cheers.

"elite perks" lol I'm not laughing at the idea of elite perks, I'm laughing that somebody bought a case of water at the store and they want me to think I'm elite. Make it a soda or a beer or those little margaritas and THEN I'll feel like you are treating me special. I'd walk away thinking, "They gave me a Mountain Dew! That was nice."

When DH and his twin brother celebrated their 60th birthdays in 2022, they wore them the whole trip. Since they've grown older, they look less identical, so it was fun for them to get that fun back of being twins together again. BIL also wore a kilt on his birthday; DH did not.

Actually, for Hyatt the elite perks are actually very nice (the water bottles are just a minimum): Upgrade to best available room, including suites, free breakfast, free parking on award stays and waived resort fees on all stays. Those are well worth it to us. Just not the water bottles due to the waste.
Cheers.

I like the buttons. Not usually for ourselves, but it's fun to see others celebrating things, especially birthdays, anniversaries, and weddings. The wife and I try to offer a congratulations to those that have them and are celebrating.

Except for years - like 15, we've always had to request buttons.
