We like the studios at the Villas at Disneyland, the resort studios at VGF and the ones at PVB. We do not own at any of these resorts. So if going for 4 nights or less, and we can snag a reservation, we will be happy in one of these studios. Otherwise we usually go for a 1 bedroom.
As I said elsewhere, we recently stayed at BWV. For 5 nights we had two refurbished BW view studios…treated our very good friends to one of them. On the 6th day they left and we moved to a 1 bedroom savanna view at Kidani. When we opened the doors to that villa, we were literally jumping for joy at all the extra room and comfort.
DH mentioned that it looked a little shabby compared to from where we just came. But, it didn’t matter. The space (seating, frig, WD, lux bath and huge porch) was awesome!

The only Studios I kind of like right now still are the PVB Studios. Even then, it only stay there if Solo or with my kid. Otherwise we are one and mostly two bedroom dwellers. We did a studio once with my son as a baby, and we decided to never do that again with more than two people. One bedrooms are definitely more worth it to me as a whole, but really for us as a family of three even we love the two bedrooms. We've added on because we decided that two bedrooms are better than one LOL so similar but just on a bigger scale.

SAME
Bought more points specifically so we'd never have to stay in a studio again. We are 1bd all the way, every time. Funny, my wife went to WDW with a friend recently and they stayed in a studio and she really felt cramped.

1-bedrooms are the best!! Lots of space, full kitchen, laundry, but they are point hogs. But that also makes them much easier to get at 7 months.

Yup....We have been 1-bedroom dwellers for year and years.
Let me count the reasons why....
1. Separate bedroom (privacy and no noise from the halls) 2. Full Kitchen (mostly for the refrigerator) 3. Walk-in shower 4. Extra bathroom at BLT and AKL 5. King Bed 6. Closet for storage/clothes 7. I am an early riser, Robin is not....good to have a space so not to wake her. 8. Laundry in the room 9. Always available on short notice

We've been adding on points specifically to switch from studios to 1BD's. It's just so nice having the extra room, laundry, kitchen, etc.

This is exactly what happened to us (and anyone that tries a 1 bedroom it seems). We added on of course.
One nice change from this is we sometimes bring carry ons only and skip checking in baggage at the airport (in room laundry is the best).

When our son was at home we always used our points for a longer stay in a studio. On our first trip after he left for college, I couldn't get a studio for us and decided to "try" the one bedroom. As many have already mentioned, there was no going back!
It is better by far for all the reasons described in the previous replies. Love having the laundry available in room, and the separate bedroom means DH can sleep in and I can get up early and not disturb him. I think his favorite thing on vacation are the black out curtains and the separate bedroom allows him to take full advantage! The extra bathroom means I can exercise and shower and get ready for the day without disturbing him. The downside is when we are at Kidani I can make a pot of coffee and drink the whole thing before he gets up while sitting out on the balcony!

Since we are such a large group we normally have stayed in a 2 bdrm. This past trip our son and his family stayed in a 2 bdrm. While my wife and I stayed in a 1 bdrm. We loved it and the privacy it afforded us during our trip. Will stay in one again when we return.

Agree, we specifically bought DVC because we did not want to share a room with our kids. Now, we are near the phase where we will start going without kids. Given how hard it is to book studios at BWV we may get "stuck" with a 1bd but that's fine by us. DW wakes up way earlier than I usually do so its good to have the space to spread out.

I don't ever think we will be in a position to go without the kids/grandkids. I have suggested it several times to my darling wife, as our first time at Walt Disney World was by ourselves, and she just gives me one of her looks. Even though the grandkids are young adults. But each year that we go we seem to have more fun.

One bedrooms definitely always preferable, especially if I have anyone more than me in the room.

Funny, I always seem to be the opposite of everyone here. Although a one bedroom is nice with having laundry, I prefer a studio and be able to go more often. It truly doesn’t bother me to not have additional space, as the studio provides enough that we need.

It truly doesn’t bother me to not have additional space, as the studio provides enough that we need. That used to be us, so I get it. The full kitchen is the big seller, and we find the 4-5 night trips a couple of times a year sufficient, so no need to go for longer. We did need to add 25 BWV points to make this happen regularly, but that's it.
Cheers.

We like the 1Br but we (I) only indulge when we are staying at AK or BL because the point cost is so reasonable. While we enjoy the space, we rarely use the kitchen for any more than we do the studio. The AK value 1Br we've stayed in usually has a tub shower - a jetted tub shower - so I have to have DH help me out.
