Ask and you shall receive.....
The refurbishment is scheduled for one year. You are looking at the tail end of it, when everything we be done or almost done. Personally, I think its a great time to book your room.
OMFG! This is a brilliant resource! Looking for Boardwalk View rooms and this is very enlightening. Definitely bookmarking this!
Cheers.
Well..... Here is another helpful website.

Anyone remember seeing a chart that shows how far the resorts book up? I feel like it was by month, showing the various unit sizes of each DVC resort and how fast they booked up. But I have no idea when or where I saw that (and possibly am confusing it with smth else). If anyone knows, can you point me to it!? I'm going to think ahead to where else we might realistically be able to get a 7-night 2BR at 7-months (I'm hoping maybe July is so hot that we'll have a couple of options). Ask and you shall receive.....

YES! Perfect! This is exactly what I was looking for - thank you so much!! Interesting perspective on finding this a great time to book (being toward the end of the scheduled timeframe) -- I hadn't thought of it that way. I'll mention it to my group when we reconvene on this. I feel like renovations seem to take longer rather than shorter (looking at the still-in-progress Boardwalk renos), but maybe BLT will be a different experience. I'll be sure to watch for more info.

The refurbishment will close one floor at a time. The building has 15 floors. If everything goes as planned, your room will be a refurb room and not above/below the last floor being completed for refurb.
The Boardwalk refub is of a much older building and the exterior work is more extensive than planned for.

Reviving this thread, as we're getting closer to booking! Our parameters have changed, so to bring you (if anyone is reading this, lol) up to speed, here is the current plan:
Dates: Hoping for check-in on Sunday, July 27th and check-out on Saturday, August 9th.
Group: DH, myself, and our three 20-smthg daughters who will come for all or part of the trip
Accommodations: We are hoping to split our trip as follows: * July 27-August 1 (5 nights): Riviera 1-BR Standard * August 1-August 9 (8 nights): Boardwalk 2-BR Standard
It'll be a little squishy if all 3 DDs elect to come during the Riviera dates, but we'll make it work if it turns out that way. We won't be able to book the first half (RIV) until the 7-month mark. It seems like Standard 1-BRs should be available (anyone care to comment on thoughts about likelihood of this?), based on some of the data tracking I've seen. If it's booked up, we'll pivot to a 2-BR at SSR or AK or OKW -- something should be open. We'd love to try RIV, but it'll be OK if it doesn't work out.
I can book the second half of our trip at 11-months, as we own at BWV. Here are two questions I think I know the answers to, but to check with the pros: 1) For check-in on August 1, 2025, I can book online at 8am on September 1, 2024 (booking is based on the date, not a certain number of days). Correct? 2) We have a Feb use year and will be booking for August. I can use what will be current 2025 points and borrow from 2026 points for this stay (we use points as of the dates of the trip, not points as of the day of booking). Correct?
Thanks!!

The title of this thread makes me chuckle to myself just a little bit - a few days back, I was logged into dvc looking at my points, making calculations on paper, and planning for 2027. The ridiculousness of it all is what makes me chuckle.

The ridiculousness of it all is what makes me chuckle. In a sense, we're sort of planning for dates between now and 2042. Basically, a stay in BCV (or using BVC points if we want to go elsewhere) in May and BWV in September. This is based on the points they want and the points we have.
Of course, there will be minor variations, and DVC can change up the seasons (they've done it before). It's just the specific dates that move.
For example, we're planning to do a canal boat trip in Europe next year with friends. We picked September and were going to wait until November to get specific. Contacted them to say that we needed a ballpark date range by October so that we can book our September BVW trip.
We plan everything 11 months out since that's when air tickets go on sale. Not at all ridiculous.
Cheers.

So true on the advanced planning. We have an Excel spreadsheet through 2060 (when BLT expires) where we have an outline of how we want to use our BWV (until 2042) and BLT points, balanced with trips to other places in the world. We've marked years with retirement dates, milestone birthdays and anniversaries, etc. It's a constantly-changing document, and always a fun past-time to play with and daydream about.

Ah, someone after my own heart with spreadsheets. I track our DVC points on a spreadsheet with a number of very long embedded formulas to take into account every stay, bank and borrow and adjust points across years accordingly. Then I track all trips, hotel awards, flights, car rentals on another sheet. And our airline FFF status on another. Then then the daily planning calendar with conditional formatting for all trips for the current and next year.
There is nothing that Excel can't do. This way I can keep track of every detail for stays, reservations, parking, status and points in a few key sheets.
Cheers.

That’s impressive! Wish I had kept track of every Disney trip . You think you will remember forever. I think organizing the details must be the key to unlocking memories .

We did a one bedroom during spring break at Riviera. It was a standard view for 4 nights. But we had no issues getting a one bedroom standard at Riviera at 7 months! Good luck getting your reservations!
