Hi guys, So just to report on my progress-- I logged in at 8am on Sept. 1st to book the BWV portion of our trip (starting Aug. 1st, 2025). I can't get it. WHAT!?  And that's the only day that's booked, so-- walkers. We've owned BWV over a decade and booked there at 11-months for summer trips many times and never had this happen. Why in the heck are people walking vacations mid-summer at BWV?? What am I missing!? Welp, I joined the walkers.  Ugh. Never had to do that before. I can now report that I successfully finished the walk and have the 8 consecutive nights at BWV we wanted (8/1/25 to checking out the morning of 8/9).  I didn't want to post earlier (during the walk) in case I'd jinx it.  But, again, I ask you all: why are people walking BWV late July-August?! |

But, again, I ask you all: why are people walking BWV late July-August?! So they can get BWV in Sept/Oct for F&W. Laura I mean, I guess so? But F&W starts so early and runs for so long now, it doesn't seem like people would need to walk for months to get it...does it? I was also thinking likely because we wanted a standard 2-BR. Standards book fast and the 2-BRs require a studio since they're all lock-offs. So if the studios are going, so are the 2-BRs. Anyway, like BRP, we've never had this happen before and I was very surprised. Silver lining: now I'm very familiar with the online modify feature, lol. |

We have an Excel spreadsheet through 2060 (when BLT expires) where we have an outline of how we want to use our BWV (until 2042) and BLT points, balanced with trips to other places in the world. It's a constantly-changing document, and always a fun past-time to play with and daydream about. I track our DVC points on a spreadsheet with a number of very long embedded formulas to take into account every stay, bank and borrow and adjust points across years accordingly. Then I track all trips, hotel awards, flights, car rentals on another sheet. And our airline FFF status on another. Then then the daily planning calendar with conditional formatting for all trips for the current and next year. Data is fun! I do similar... For example, I can tell you... Point sourcing: Of the points I've spent, 73% have come from my pool, 26% from transfers, and 1% from OTU. Point management: Of my pool, 52% were spent in the current UY, 30% were borrowed, and 18% were banked. I also keep a master plan for each Annual Pass Year, and these get more elaborate each year. Looking back at my sheets from the 2010's era those were so basic! |

Kudos to all of you who track everything like that. That takes some dedication. Years ago, I tracked my DVC (more to convince myself of the cost savings) and then quit after a couple of years. |

Kudos to all of you who track everything like that. That takes some dedication. Years ago, I tracked my DVC (more to convince myself of the cost savings) and then quit after a couple of years. For me it's less about dedication than happiness. I'm one of those strange people who enjoys making and maintaining complex spreadsheets to track a variety of things. I've got like 5 or 6 that I work with on a regular basis. When I had a job, it got in the way of updating the spreadsheets the way I wanted. Now that I'm retired, they can get more focus. But is is something I actually look forward to for DVC, hotel stays and status, airline status, concerts and contents of a couple of wine fridges. Yeah, I know it's kinda sad

your plans sounds similar to some of mine. Maybe consider a split stay where when its a one bedroom (at blt for second bathroom) when its only three of you, then change to a two bedroom, either at BW or BLT when your party size increases. You could also consider a three bedroom at OKW if all six of you end up there.
