I've never been in a Costco. Is it really that special? Serious question... Nope. Overall a very similar selection offering as Sam's Club and BJ's. Some of their name-brand (Kirkland) stuff a tad nicer quality. That said, I enjoy wandering around each. Give me air conditioning and I'm a pleasant nomad... Good to know. I really only go to Sam's for stuff like laundry soap, protein drinks, etc. I'm usually in too much of a hurry to wander. I think that there is a Costco in Little Rock now, though. So if it was really special I could make an effort.

Some of their name-brand (Kirkland) stuff a tad nicer quality. We like CostCo, but does seem similar to the others. The Kirkland liquors are great. They're made by real companies (not CostCo) at great prices compared to buying the name brand.
For name-brand liquors, they are substantially cheaper than anywhere else I've seen. And I've read that, even with those prices, CostCo will only accept the top 5% of the company's production. So cream of the crop, and cheaper.
Buying in bulk is great for us, and all we have here is CostCo, so it works for us.
Cheers.

It changes but from a consumer product stand point:
Heinze Catsup Big 3 beers (Bud/Light, Miller/Lite,. Coors Light but micro brews are eating into this as has international ownership) Charmin TP
Corporate Brand Costco Apple still strong Trader Joe's Ford Disney there..but is fading...

I am just the opposite. Costco is superior to Sams. I cannot speak to BJ's.
Costco has larger variety and a bit higher quality than Sams..and I think priced better and from the long time employees, much better employer.

I figured they were similar. Good to hear that Costco may be better since that's our only option
Cheers.

I have some coworkers who are Jeep lovers. They are a very dedicated group. Tattoos, "the wave to other jeep drivers", a special Jeep meet and greet they do every year, etc. They even did a Jeep Trunk or Treat at Halloween to raise $ for a charity. That was cool.

Maybe a regional thing? We don't have a BJ's, and Costco only landed in Arkansas a couple of years ago. Sam's has been here forever.

We've done both. Locally Costco is slightly above Sams but I'm sure that's more store dependent.

"the wave to other jeep drivers" I have a 1991 Honda and I recently had a guy in a similarly-old Honda give me the wave!

Some quite nice, some I'd rather not be in the area outside of daylight hours. Overall I'd say Jamie's right in that Costco is generally regarded as the best of the bunch, whether that difference is enough to travel for will of course vary by the individual and of course desired purchases.

I have my preferences for grocery items and have a rotation of four different stores to get stuff. Wife doesn't like the meat from the four places I go, she prefers it from these two other places, so I guess you could add those to the list. But I never go to those other places because "ka-ching ka-ching" for most of the things I buy.

I don't think I have any brand loyalties. Lots of preferences, e.g. I like Coke, but I'll drink Pepsi if Coke isn't available. DD will make fun of me for wearing conflicting brands, like Nike sneakers, Under Arour shorts and an Adidas t-shirt.

I’ve spent the last 25 years in “pajamas.” I just want to be covered and comfortable.
