I did a Run Disney event many, many years ago and it was not this difficult to get an entry. Honestly, if I had to put in that much work to run, I would not Run Disney, rather Run from Disney.

Hi, So thank you for all the comments. I am not a runner at all, but I thought this was a fun way to set a goal for myself. Losing weight and getting in shape. My daughter is getting married 8/2025! A great goal and fabulous motivator. Just work up to things and it will happen!
Cheers.

I'm not a runner, but am doing the Springtime Surprise 10K, it seems like the long distances (marathon, 1/2) and short distances (5k) always fill up the fastest...

I am only dong the 5K...this time...felt like doing 10K maybe too much pressure. My kids said to run it not walk it so shooting for that. I have a very busy schedule sooo. Plan to train this summer and may do a 5 K here in Fall so I know I am ready. Maybe 10K the next year!

You do a 5k, next a 10k and you keep going up from there! I did a 5k and worked my way up to Dopey. You have plenty of time to train, follow the plans on the runDisney site, they are helpful. And the on course support is so great, that will carry you the rest of the way. Have fun and be sure to report back and let us know how it goes! Some registration stats I saw posted - the 5k sold out in 70 mins, 10k 82 mins, Half 120 mins, Full 111 mins, Goofy 53 mins, Dopey 92 mins. In 2019 the Half, Full, Goofy, and Dopey never sold out. And in 2020 they sold out in October/November.

Thank you swat08 for the support. My daughter runs (26) and never did and that is what happened to her! I hope I get the bug. I want to run because I feel like it will be a stress reliever in a big way, healthy and feel freeing!!! I downloaded the Run Disney training plan but found it a bit confusing. Seeing my daughter and her fiancé (he runs a little too) and they can set me straight. Yes like I said Goofy and something else sold out right before I got in. Wow big difference I guess people want to run!!! I will definitely report back but you have 8 most to wait lol !!!!

I'm so glad you were able to get in. I did the half quite a few years ago with a big group of friends. I would like to do the half again with my adult children but I would hate for some of us to get in and others are not able to. We've opted for other races to eliminate this problem.

Hi, So thank you for all the comments. I am not a runner at all, but I thought this was a fun way to set a goal for myself. Losing weight and getting in shape. My daughter is getting married 8/2025! So I did as Nicky said and logged in to my laptop and work laptop at 9:45. I did it on my phone, too, but that got messed up, so I shut it down and figured that it might be difficult to register on my little screen. Around 9:50ish it told me 'over an hour wait' then a few minutes after 10 I received a time. My work laptop stayed anywhere from 11-20 minutes behind. When I was at 30 minutes, suddenly the time increased by 25 minutes on both screens- I was not happy. At about 50 minutes in 2 races sold out { It think it was Goofy and Dopey? cannot recall now}. So popped up after about 70 minutes I could register on my laptop. I followed what was said and was able to register!!! Once I got the confirmation email, I shut down my work laptop, which showed I could register. It was stressful and luckily was working from home Tuesday otherwise no way could have done it. Surprised to hear it is disorganized as everyone we met in January said how organized it was ?!! Maybe they are doing a better job. My daughter is a runner and done 10K, 1/2 and full and they vary with organization. Mostly signage for us to view her....So I am excited and a very doable run to achieve as I have 8 mos lol!!!!! Thank you for the tips and support Congratulations on getting through!

I hopped on at 9:45AM on my phone and it automatically put me in queue at 10AM. It took about 45-50 minutes, but I was fortunate enough to get signed up. I signed up for the Dopey Challenge. I participated in the Half-Marathon this last year. I am very nervous, but I plan to do my best to prepare. Good luck to everyone participating! It was a lot of fun this last time, and I am excited to be Dopey this time.

Congrats to all that made it into the desired events.
My daughter has done 3 or 4 Dopey's. She is not any kind of great distance runner but utilizes a run / walk strategy and has made it (her pace is usually around 12 or 13min /miles). Her comment is as long as you take it easy the first three days and don't blow up you should be fine.
Just dropped my wife off for the 10 miler today. After this she is going to take break from Disney runs for awhile so I hope she does well.

She finished and had a great time. Her training had been a bit spotty leading up to it so she was nervous about the event. She mostly walked it but she walks pretty fast and finished with sub 14min/mile pace. Disney runs are not really the place for best times anyway due to the crowds and several choke points on most courses so having fun and finishing is the goal.
