My wife has slowed down on the number of Run Disney events but she was pretty good about making it in. Just before the time the event opens she opened multiple windows on our desk top computer using both Safari and Chrome then watches the count down until one of them hits. I think the most she has had was 8 windows open at one time. Interesting enough they don't seem to be first come first serve as it seems pretty random which window hits. We use to open windows on multiple devices but that doesn't seem to help. You can enter multiple people when you finally make it in on one of the windows, have all of your info ready and get through it as fast as you can, I don't think it gives you a slot until you have paid. It can take over an hour of waiting and by monitoring on line forums you can tell if the event you want has sold out. Also be ready to be flexible because it seems as if Disney IT finds new and exciting ways to screw up the process every time.

Having got some advice from 3 runDisney veterans, they confirm that registration operates like Moonlight Magic.
First step they recommended is to create a runDisney account prior to registration day. Select Manage Account under the Help and Support option on the drop down menu. That will save you precious seconds when registration opens.
Then this was what one of them said, copied from their post:
“Around 9:45 AM EDT, you can go to the runDisney website, click on the drop down menu for races, click on the particular race you want to register for. Usually you can hit the green Register button before 10 AM. You’ll then be in a queue...with a randomly assigned number...until registration begins. You'll get what we refer to as "the spinning blue circle of death", the "please be patient" notice. DO NOT REFRESH THE SCREEN or you'll lose your spot. Eventually you'll see a countdown to when your window to register opens.
1. Have several devices open and in the queue.
2. Know you haven't purchased a bib until your payment goes through and you get confirmation. I've had a race well out as I was entering my cc info.
3. There will be merchandise available to purchase. DO NOT BUY at this time as that slows you down to when payment goes through.”
Other tips was to make sure you turn off any “sleep” function on your devices - so they don’t turn off after a set period of time.
Also to use more than one device to enter the “waiting room” before registration opens. Then monitor the wait times.
Good luck, hope you get lucky. 🤞🤞🤞

I did them prior to Covid and always got in as long as you are ready to register as soon as it opens hopefully that hasn't changed. I always submitted a timed race (usually a 10k) so your corral is closer to the beginning of the race which will give you a great cushion if you want to take pictures with all the rare characters along the race route and not be booted by the "Balloon Ladies." I didn't care what my running time was - I was there just to have fun with my girlfriends & take pics. I really enjoyed the Disney races except for the fact of getting up at 3:00am to head to the starting gate.

runDisney introduced a paid membership that guarantees you entry now. I suspect the stress of the registration process is why regular runners went for it.
I don’t know how that has impacted registration for everyone else.

The changes runDisney made to the registration process have been very frustrating and disappointing. DVC and AP used to have advanced registration and they took that away, They also took away the ability to book with a Travel Agent, I used this a couple times and it took away to stress of registering for the races. It used to be to the longer distances would have open spots well past the opening day of registration - weeks even months and now they are gone within the hour. When the pandemic hit something changed, whether it was less spots runDisney made available or more people interested, I don't know what it is but I'm sure someone has looked at the data, that was when I noticed the craziness of registration date. For 2 years in a row, I couldn't get in for the races I wanted and now I have just given up - it's not worth the aggravation.

Yes and I emailed someone but there was no way to join the club run disney for 2025 to get in early which I would have done the site still not showing it. I literally changed morning plans for tomorrow to do this. I will be very disappointed if I cannot get it. I will write back and let you know tomorrow!!!

Did you make it in?
The Run Disney Club has been sold out for several years and although very expensive it does give you early registration and moves you up to I think the 3rd corral.
While my wife is currently taking a break from Disney races (her last one will be the 10 miler in a couple of weeks) she is either very lucky (probable) or very good at the process because I think she has made it into every race she has tried for including the Disneyland race this past January and the pre-covid Paris race. I outlined her process of opening several windows just prior to the registration opening above and once she is in the count down my only involvement is to be sure her cup of tea stays hot and full while she calls Disney IT every name in the book because of how poorly the system works.
A couple of comments to Nickys excellent write up on the process; Unless you are worried that your system might crash for some reason it is the number of windows that you have open not the number of devices, if you have a big enough screen you can open several windows on the same device. You do need to get into line before registration starts but it probably doesn't matter how far before the time you do it. There is a pretty strong rumor (not verified that I have heard) that when the registration time window opens the wait line is reset and your place in line is randomly assigned ( this is why you use multiple windows). Of course that being said Disney IT loves to screw with things so it could change at any time.....

I know we have words like "windows" and "devices" and things flying around...if it's truly like the Moonlight Magic registration, isn't it about "instances" (I think that's the right word, maybe not) meaning I can pop open 10 windows (tabs, as my browser calls them) all the same browser and the web page on the other end knows they are all the same person (me). I use this often to my advantage, especially on the DVC page while logged in, it likes to time-out on me as I stare at my point options, but having another window (tab) open allows me to refresh that one every few minutes and it makes the other end think I am actually browsing the page. When I want something like trying to score those Moonlight Magic tickets, you can use different browsers on the same computer (e.g. Opera, Firefox, Chrome, Edge) and it will look like four different people. Then you can fire one up on your phone and somebody else's phone and maybe an ipad, and there you have more instances.

So glad I am not a runner! We are runners. But never again a Disney event. We've done like 3 and they are not well organized. OTOH, the actual courses are great, so I do see the appeal. But we'll avoid them anyway.
Cheers.

Hi, So thank you for all the comments. I am not a runner at all, but I thought this was a fun way to set a goal for myself. Losing weight and getting in shape. My daughter is getting married 8/2025! So I did as Nicky said and logged in to my laptop and work laptop at 9:45. I did it on my phone, too, but that got messed up, so I shut it down and figured that it might be difficult to register on my little screen. Around 9:50ish it told me 'over an hour wait' then a few minutes after 10 I received a time. My work laptop stayed anywhere from 11-20 minutes behind. When I was at 30 minutes, suddenly the time increased by 25 minutes on both screens- I was not happy. At about 50 minutes in 2 races sold out { It think it was Goofy and Dopey? cannot recall now}. So popped up after about 70 minutes I could register on my laptop. I followed what was said and was able to register!!! Once I got the confirmation email, I shut down my work laptop, which showed I could register. It was stressful and luckily was working from home Tuesday otherwise no way could have done it. Surprised to hear it is disorganized as everyone we met in January said how organized it was ?!! Maybe they are doing a better job. My daughter is a runner and done 10K, 1/2 and full and they vary with organization. Mostly signage for us to view her....So I am excited and a very doable run to achieve as I have 8 mos lol!!!!! Thank you for the tips and support
