Yes, you're thinking of "Revenge of the Fifth." I knew there was another one!

Hmmm - I wonder if this will effect Disney Springs and our ability to get a seat at the bar because May 4th is our arrival day so all we're gonna want to do is decompress from travel/arrival/settling activities.

Understood, but "days of the year" sites list the 5th as the next Star Wars holiday though neither day is found on lists of official (registered?) day sites: Sites I found that speak to the 6th debate whether it should be the 5th or 6th but I didn't find a calendar listing that uses the 6th so those in favor better start lobbying harder, lol. As someone whose anniversary has become Star Wars Day (because our wedding came first dammit), I appreciate "May the Fourth" because it helps family members (like my mom ) remember it, even if they remember only because someone mentions the Star Wars holiday first. It also provided me with a cool Disney May the 4th t-shirt for DH for our 25th anniversary because, well, we just like to go all out on our anniversary, lmao.

I have no idea what that Days of the Year site is. Seriously, and for every one site you find saying one thing, you hear another. I actually was being silly since I find the argument ridiculous online (reddit search it, wow) and just having fun The really only official day is the 4th

After all, the only day we should recognize and celebrate as official is the 4th. My favorite was a reddit poster that listed May the Fourth, Cinco de Kylo, and Revenge of the Sixth as what they felt should be the days, lol. I'm waiting for someone to document and promote the first full week of May as various Star Wars days...that would be impressive, most impressive.

First thing I thought was it must be related to Revenge of the Fifth. I have a 'May the 4th be with you' shirt, and I've been wanting to get a Revenge of the 5th. I may look for that today. And I need a new 4th shirt, mine is too small. I'm on a lot of SW shopping site lists, and they have sales on May 5h as well as the 4th. Usually not as good as the 4th sales, but that's how I first came to know May 5th as Revenge of the 5h My brother's birthday was May 4, so I do always think of that first, before SW day.

I don't celebrate Cinco de Mayo but I'm all for Cinco de Kylo! Then Revenge of the Sixth. I'm all for doing anything to stretch it out. One of the arguments I read was by linguistics person as to why which should be what in terms of tones lol. That was kinda of a fun read. The one I think is a stretch is when some say Return of the Sixth... but whatever makes people happy!

Its not a private Birthday Party for Brian. The private event May 5th at DHS is a Celebration Party for The Summit 2024 Championship, a cheerleading competition taking place between May 2 and 5 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. What the hell…. That said, I could be appeased by cheerleaders.

(totally lighthearted here) So did Disney decide for us? I admit I love Cinco de Kylo. Saw Juan Solo yesterday too. I'd be cool with them getting Cinco de Mayo www.amazon.com/stores/page/79D57AE1-6192-438C-B806-E5A8D255EEF6?channel=RT6CRM[

My son’s birthday is today May 6, so having Disney make this the “ Revenge of the Sixth” day is so appropriate!!!

Taking something that was interesting and unique (May the Fourth) and then kludging on additional pieces like this is disappointing and not terribly creative. Also, the subversion of Cinco de Mayo is particularly disappointing. Overkill in the name of failed creativity...sigh...
Cheers.

A few things, Cinco de Mayo is actually an American deal, specifically brought in to popularity by Chicanos in the 60s. If you are in Mexico where it matters it is called Batalla de Puebla. It is a day off of school usually in Mexico, but it's only an official day in the state of Puebla and a full holiday for there and Veracruz (next door state). No where else in Meixco is this a big deal. We already bastardized this to be an American thing vs what it's really all about (and no it's not Independence day for Mexico). We tend to do this for things we want to appropriate and make our own. I will disagree, to me this was creative and not overkill

I learned something new. I still don't think it's terribly creative, but I now appreciate the relative insignificance of Cinco de Mayo in Mexico and the Americanization of the concept. I now don't care as much about bastardizing it, creativity opinions aside.
Cheers.
