Sometimes when we're in MK we leave for lunch. Kona Cafe is the usual spot. I'm thinking about Geyser Point for the next trip. Any thoughts on the menu, ease of transportation (boat, I assume), etc.?

I went there for lunch on our Christmas trip to meet a couple of friends. We took the boat from MK, which took longer than expected because it went to FW first and then on to WL. For the return we took the bus because I wanted to show DH the lobby. The bus was quicker but not nearly so much fun. Both the bison burger and Sweet chilli chicken burger were very tasty. I’ll definitely go back!

Depends on what time you are arriving for lunch. Usually you can get a seat for lunch if it’s a later lunch. The menu has your typical burgers, chicken, salad offerings, although the Bison burger stands out if your into burgers. The bar has some other food offerings so you may also want to check with them. There are wonderful views of Bay Lake ( I think that’s the lake) from Geyser Point. To get to WL, it’s either by bus or boat. You can take the boat from MK to WL, or the bus from MK. Only other place to catch the bus directly to WL is either from Disney Springs or from a Park.

Well worth a visit for sure. Bison burger is amazing, one of my favorites anywhere.

Geyser Point is worth making a visit. I agree that the bison burger is really good, along with the rest of the menu. The location is wonderful and getting there from the MK is half the fun. Definitely recommend.

Are the small boats (water launches, I believe they are called) still operating from Contemporary Resort to Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness?

Those boats are my absolute favorite mode of transportation. I thought captaining one of them would be a dream job for retirement days.

My biggest bonus to staying at BLT was for the boat to WL and Ft Wilderness. Also still salty they haven't returned the WL-Ft W walking/biking path.

We've only had snacks here and it was very nice. The location is the real draw. Just so tranquil and relaxing. Will definitely be back.
Cheers.

Also still salty they haven't returned the WL-Ft W walking/biking path. They have it barricaded or something? Bears sleeping there, perhaps

Those boats are my absolute favorite mode of transportation. I thought captaining one of them would be a dream job for retirement days. I don't know the answer to this, but I've always wondered: Those boats are public transportation and thus controlled by some government agency; I wonder what getting a license is like. The busses I know are all DOT and you need the full DOT class-b with passenger endorsement. I used to have class-b with passenger and school-bus endorsements, but let it go over a year ago. But if there's an emergency on the busses I could drive one! Yee-haw! I was always jealous of their Riccaro seats.

When things closed down a lot of the boat captains retired and decided not to return.
When we were there over Christmas I noticed there were a few older boat captains but also several very much younger faces. Good to see the younger generation interested in it.
And those little launches around Bay Lake were one of my favourite ways to spend an hour or so. On NYE 2016 I did a full loop from the Contemporary and then on again to WL. The captain kept asking if I was sure I knew where I was going. 😂
