San Angel Inn opinions please!

I ate there last year and loved it .  The guacamole was wonderful .  I will try to eat there this trip on July. 

We went a couple years ago, having never gone. It was a bucket list item for me since I was 10 and first rode the boat ride (same situation with the one in California Disneyland, the one on the bayou at the beginning of Pirates) so we made a reservation for 4:30 and when we checked in, we said we wanted to wait for a waterfront table. Only had to wait like 10 minutes because it was 4:30. Seating WAS a little tight but once we were scooted in it was fine, and being on the water meant we kinda forgot about everyone else.

The scenery was fantastic, our waiter was great, we decided to have margaritas, (two each, yeah!), an appetizer. On a whim I ordered ribeye tacos and I loved them. My wife wasn't blown away by what she got but liked it just the same. As we walked out of the place, we agreed it was one of the most memorable meals we have had. I still feel like it's one of my favorite meals I've had. I don't get caught up on whether the food is however good or not compared to some other place...I have a handful of family-run mexican restaurants I can go to locally for less money but they aren't in Epcot Center at the base of the volcano at dusk with boats going by.

We will have to go do it again one of these times.

Highly recommend trying to get a waterfront table - in my mind that's what makes that place special.

But when I look back, it was 100% the waterfront table. If we went tomorrow, I'd be waiting for those tables, or not going. Magic!
